Hi Stamping Friends!

Don't forget to stop back tomorrow to see what's on sale during our HUGE Clearance Rack Blitz!  I will have all the details on Tuesday, December 10, 2013!

OK—This post may seem a little like déja vu, but I was having so much fun with the "No Stamping" Merry Banners in Season of Style papers, that I had to try them with some of my Winter Frost scraps!

Merry in blue - two cool

Ooohh!  I'm loving the wintery, frosty look of these papers and colors, especially with the Silver Foil sentiment from the Expressions Thinlits!

Merry in blue - pool party stripes

Inspired by Amy O'Neill at Amy's Paper Crafts.

Casd Base—I started with a Basic Gray, vertically folded card base and then I tried some different colors and textures for the 4" x 5-1/4" background layers.  This one is Pool Party card stock that's texture embossed with the Stylish Stripes Folder (with the de-bossed side showing, just for fun!).

Merry in blue - pool party stripes 2

Banners—I used 3/4" x 3-1/2" strips of Winter Frost Designer Series Paper for the banners, each fish-tail punched with the corner of a 1" Square Punch.

Trimmings—Once the banners were adhered to the embossed piece, I wrapped some 3/8" White Taffeta Ribbon around the piece and tied into a knotted faux bow.

Merry Thinlit—I die-cut the Silver Foil "Merry" with the Expressions Thinlits die.  TIP #1: You'll definitely want to use wax paper between the foil and the die for this intricate die-cut to help it release from the Thinlit better.  TIP #2: I also added card stock shim to my Big Shot sandwich and ran the die back and forth through the machine about 3 times to ensure a really good cut. TIP #3: The more cut up your cutting pad is, the more likely that you'll see some cut marks show up in the form of texture on your delicate Silver Foil.

I adhered the word with some dots of Multipurpose Glue at all of the intersections of the lines.

Merry in blue - gray dots

This variation uses all the same ingredients except I used Smoky Slate with Perfect Polka Dots texture for the background.

I love that shine from the Silver Foil!  It truly makes this card special, even though the rest is easy!

Merry in blue - pool dots

Another one with Pool Party card stock and Perfect Polka Dots texture.

Merry in blue - gray stripes

And a final version with Smoky Slate and the Stylish Stripes texture.

Merry in blue - all

Can you tell I had some fun making them?  I couldn't stop!  I'm giving these cards to my downline members who completed a Too Cool team challenge last month.  I hope they like it!
