Nothing's Better Than…Cocktails Cards
I'm loving this colorful and cool card design from my Nothing's Better Than LIVE Class! The best part is that you can mix & match and use whichever image or combination of phrases that you love when you make these class cards! Whether it's Coffee, Cookies, Chocolate or Cocktails…it's sure to turn out Too Cool!
Background Basics—The card foundation is a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" quarter sheet of Magenta Madness. I embossed a 4-1/4" x 3" piece of Magenta Madness cardstock with the 3D Brick & Mortar Folder and adhered it to the background. Then, I adhered a 3-3/8" x 4-5/8" piece of Basic Black to create a foundation for the folded card.
Folded Card—The actual folded card is a 6-1/2" x 4-1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock that's scored at the 3-1/4" mark. Isn't this non-traditional card base so fun?!.
Sweet Sentiments—Before mounting onto the card base, I stamped the Nothing's Better Than phrases in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the card front. I started by die-cutting the "cocktails" word from Magenta Madness cardstock using the Love You More Than coordinating dies. Then I laid the die-cut down on the card front for better positioning as I stamped the sentiments. The die-cut is adhered with tiny dabs of Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Notice that I shaped the die-cut so that it was curved to add a little interest.
Cool Cocktails—I stamped the cocktail glass outline images in Memento Black onto Whisper White scraps, then filled in each area with the two-step color-fill stamp. The drinks were stamped in Magenta Madness and Mango Melody, the umbrellas in Granny Apple Green and Magenta Madness and the slices in Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green. I die-cut them with the Love You More Than dies and adhered them to the card front with SEAL. So cute!
Finishing Touches—I added three different colors of Artistry Blooms sequins around the glasses. They match those colors perfectly!
Two Cool—The second version begins with a horizontal Coastal Cabana quarter sheet card base. The embossed brick texture measures 5-1/2" x 2-1/2".
Sweet Sentiment—I die-cut the word from Coastal Cabana and changed up the Nothing's Better Than phrases a bit. Other than that, the layout and images are the same.
Accidentally Retro—During my LIVE Class, I accidentally cut the Basic Black layer a little too small. But, in the spirit of serendipity, I just tilted the layer and found that it took on a more retro feel. I think I actually prefer this way much better, and a look at the comments on my video tells me that most of my viewers agreed! What do you think of this happy accident?
