Hi Stamping Friends!

Yard cleanupIt's a BEAUTIFUL autumn day in Indiana, so I'm spending this afternoon outside!  It's supposed to be 70° or better for the next 4 days!  I LOVE this unseasonably warm weather!

It will be a perfect time for us to finish up our yard cleanup! We purchased a new bagger for our tractor, so now instead of raking, we'll be able to vacuum up all this mess!  So much easier and a lot less leaf bags!

I spent two hours yesterday just running over the leaves to get them mulched into smaller bits. You should have seen me doing circles and figure eights all over the yard!  Yeehaw!  You can see some of my tracks in the photo where the leaves were really deep. Can't wait to get back at it today!

Tonight, I'll be working on my Stamper Sampler class projects.  If you're in the Fort Wayne area and want to get some Christmas cards done, this will be a great class for you!  We'll be doing 12 cards, 3 each of 4 different designs!  I'll have details soon!

Peaceful pines snow trees - two cool

Wonderful Winter Peaceful Pines Cards

The second project from my November Stamp-of-the-Month Class allows you to play with some of the festive elements from the versatile Peaceful Pines stamp set and Perfect Pines coordinating framelits!  It also gives you a little peek at a few other new items from the Holiday Catalog!

I love the monochromatic look of this card with just a pop of color!

Background Basics—I started with a 5-1/8" x 4-7/8" piece of Crumb Cake card stock for the background.  The top of the piece is covered with a 5" x 2-1/2" piece of the Holiday Fancy Foil Paper with pretty silver snowflakes.

TIP: I adhered the vellum by adding SNAIL on the back of the vellum only behind the snowflakes, so the adhesive won't show through as easily.

Background Landscape—I die-cut the pretty white treeline using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits on a 5" x 2-3/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the cute Peaceful Pines greeting onto the snowy hill with Mossy Meadow ink.

Background Accents—I picked up the natural color of the Crumb Cake card stock with a skinny 5" x 1/4" strip of the kraft color Corrugated Paper.  I also wrapped some Silver Cording Trim around the layer to pick up the silver accent from the vellum.  The whole background layer is mounted onto a Whisper White card base.

Perfect Pines—The fun really starts with the trees!  Choose your size, choose your image, choose your decorative die-cut pattern!  It's nearly as fun as picking out a real live Christmas tree!

I selected the large tree with the loopy-drawn branches, stamped in Mossy Meadow, then die-cut with the coordinating Perfect Pines Framelits.  Then, I chose to die-cut a small tree in Old Olive card stock and add a "string of lights" pattern with the die-cuts.  The small tree is attached with SNAIL, while the larger tree is popped up with Dimensionals.  A Linen Thread bow, attached with a Glue Dot, brings in more of the natural color and texture.

Two Cool—The second card starts out with the same elements, but I experimented with different trees.

Terrific Trees—This time I stamped a medium size tree in Mossy Meadow, then die-cut it with the matching die.  The back tree is also die-cut from the medium size framelit from Old Olive card stock, then it was die-cut again with the cool branches pattern.

Tree Texture—After I took my first photo, I went back and curled up each of the branches with a Paper Piercer for a more textured look.  Ooohhh!  Isn't it great?!
