I created this fun ocean card as a thank you after my daughter’s 3rd Under The Sea themed birthday party. She simply adores sea life, so this card was perfect!

I started by creating a cool background using the Soft Waves Embossing Folder. I layered three colors of cardstock inside the folders: Azure Afternoon measuring 3-5/8″ x 2″; Balmy Blue measuring 3-5/8″ x 3″ and Coastal Cabana measuring 3-5/8″ x 2″. Then, I adhered the Azure Afternoon and Coastal Cabana pieces to the top and bottom of a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece Basic White with SEAL Adhesive. For the middle Balmy Blue layer, I used my Paper Snips to cut along the curve of the embossed waves, then adhered it across the middle with SEAL. I mounted the background onto a Blueberry Bushel card base.

Next, I die-cut some Blueberry Bushel Ocean Friends coral and attached that at the bottom with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I stamped the detailed Ocean Friends crab image in both Berry Burst and Melon Mambo ink onto Basic White. I added the fill-in color image with the same inks stamped-off one time. They are die-cut with the coordinating Ocean Friends Dies and popped up with Dimensionals.

I stamped the Ocean Friends greeting in Blueberry Bushel ink onto a Basic White Stylish Shapes banner die-cut, then popped it up with Dimensionals.

I added some “bubbles” with the Itty Bitty Bokeh Mix sequins by dabbing tiny bits of Liquid Glue around the background and using my Take Your Pick Tool to lay each sequins on top. I’m loving that bubble look!

I love the pop of colors on this Ocean Friends card created by Kim Allen. She started by stamping the Ocean Friends coral image in Lemon Lime Twist ink on the corners of a Lemon Lime Twist card base. Next, she embossed a 4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Lemon Lime Twist with the Soft Waves Embossing Folder and mounted it with SEAL Adhesive. She added a 5″ x 1″ piece of Friends of the Ocean Designer Series Paper in a Melon Mambo pattern for a kick of color. And, she finished the background with a Lemon Lime Twist die-cut coral piece.

I love how Kim colored her crab! Looks like she stamped the detailed image in Pumpkin Pie, then added a fill-in image with Peach Pie, then used Pumpkin Pie and Pretty In Pink Stampin’ Blends Marker to add a few strokes of color for shading. Too Cool! It’s popped up with Dimensionals.

Kim stamped the Ocean Friends greeting in Melon Mambo ink onto a Basic White Unbounded Love label die-cut. It’s popped up with Dimensionals. She finished with a few Sunny Day Iridescent Dots (no longer available—just sold out yesterday!)
