Petal pink sea foam two flowers - angie peggy

One Card Design With Two Stamp Sets

I created my first card as a CASE of the second card, which was created by Peggy Tassler.  I loved her Painted Harvest design and wanted to duplicate the look with the new Abstract Impressions stamp set.  The flowers were a little smaller, and there were less foliage images in the Abstract Impressions set, so I made some modifications to make it work.  I also wanted to see what it would look like with a different color background.  Let's take a look at the details!

Abstract impressions petal pink sea foam

Background Basics—I started with a Petal Pink card base.  After scoring down the center of the 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" cardstock at the 4-1/4" mark with my Simply Scored tool, I added several more score lines at the 4-1/2", 4-3/4", 5", 7-3/4", 8" and 8-1/4" marks for decoration. What a fun & easy way to add a little interest and detail!

Lovely Layers—Next, I added a 5-1/2" x 2" strip of Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper.  Can I just say how much I adore that DSP pack!  There are so many lovely patterns that make magnificent background accents like this one. I added a 5-1/2" x 1/2" strip of Mint Macaron cardstock that I embossed with the new Subtle Dynamic Texture Impressions Folder.  That texture is another instant-classic must-have for your collection.  That barely-there touch of texture is so, so pretty and versatile!

Two Blooms—I stamped the solid Abstract Impressions flower image twice in Petal Pink onto a 3" x 3" square of Whisper White.  The detailed rose image was stamped over the top of it in Flirty Flamingo ink.  I added a few Soft Sea Foam leaf images around the flowers.  To finish the look, I stamped the splatter image from Timeless Textures in Mint Macaron ink on three edges.  It's layered onto a 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock and popped up with Dimensionals.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Abstract Impressions sentiment in Gray Granite ink onto a 2-3/4" x 5/8" strip of Whisper White, fishtailed the ends and popped it up with more Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—I added a couple of the Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins on the side of the focal point.  The package says that the color is Sahara Sand, but I thought it matched the Gray Granite sentiment perfectly!  The pack also comes with sequins in Mint Macaron, Pearl White, Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam, so I could have used any of the colors on this project and had a perfect match!

Two Cool—I simply adore this card that Peggy Tassler created!  The base of this one is Soft Sea Foam and features the extra score lines.  She has the same Tranquil Tide patterned paper that I used.

Painted Blooms—Peggy featured the gorgeous Painted Harvest flowers on her card.  The flowers were stamped in Petal Pink with Grapefruit Grove centers onto the 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" Whisper White layer.  Next, she added the leaves in Soft Sea Foam ink with the detailed leaves in Granny Apple Green over the top.  She finished by adding a few Soft Suede dots to fill in the spaces.  She added the Petal Pink Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins to the side of her card front.

Sweet Sentiment—Peggy stamped the Painted Harvest sentiment in Soft Suede ink onto a 2-1/2" x 1" piece of Whisper White, fishtailed the end, then popped it up with Dimensionals.  She finished her card with a sweet Whisper White Baker's Twine bow, attached with a Glue Dot.
