I often hear that it's difficult to find masculine stamp sets and create masculine cards. That's why I'm so glad we have the cool One Wild Ride stamp set! If you know someone that rides, male or female, they are sure to love the motorcycle elements on these cards!
Background Basics—I started by stamping two One Wild Ride tread images in Basic Gray across the bottom of 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock. I also stamped some texture in Gray Granite ink around two of the corners.
Next I embossed a 3/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Classic Garage Designer Series Paper with the Hexagons Texture Impressions Folder and adhered it to the right end of the background piece. I matted it onto a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Basic Black cardstock, then wrapped a piece of the Black/Silver Striped Metallic Ribbon around the layers, securing the ends on the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive. I mounted the layers onto a Pumpkin Pie card base.
Motorcycle Layer—I die-cut a Whisper White rectangle with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits and stamped the motorcycle image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink leaving a little room for the sentiment below it. I stamped that One Wild Ride sentiment in Basic Gray ink, then popped up the layer with Dimensionals. I also added a couple of silver Metallic Pearls.
Cool Banner—I finished the card by stamping the banner in Memento Black onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock, trimming it out with my Paper Snips and popping it up with Dimensionals in the upper-left corner. I stamped the same image a second time onto Whisper White cardstock, cut out the "journey" word an adhered that over the top to really make it stand out.
Two Cool—My second version starts in much the same way, but I stamped the tread marks up a little higher and added a One Wild Ride birthday greeting below it. The background is mounted on a Cherry Cobbler card base this time.
Cool Motorcycle—I stamped the motorcycle onto a Stitched Shapes Framelits oval and I love the way this shape really highlights the bike.
Cool Banner—The Cherry Cobbler cardstock was a little dark for this banner image to show up, so I stamped it three times to make three different layers. I cut the full banner out of the Cherry Cobbler cardstock, then I trimmed along the inside line for the Whisper White layer and I cut the "journey" from a Gray Granite layer. It doesn't really take much time to trim these easy-to-cut shapes and I love the result!
