Ornate Garden My Friend Cards
If you're like me, you end up with lots of skinny strips of your favorite Designer Series Papers. Don't throw them away! Combine coordinating patterns into a cute background! I had so much fun playing with this sweet design that I had to make three cool versions!
Background Basics—I started with a traditional Blushing Bride card base, then layered it with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Blushing Bride that had been texture embossed with the Ornate Floral Folder. This is the first time that I used the "de-bossed" side…and I love it!
DSP Décor—I cut three strips of Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper measuring 1" x 4". They are mounted onto a 3-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock. I tied some Ornate Garden Old Olive Ribbon around the layer before mounting it onto the card front with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped an Ornate Thanks sentiment in Early Espresso onto a Whisper White Ornate Frames die-cut, then popped it up with Dimensionals. Next, I stamped a couple of Ornate Style flowers in Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White. They were colored with Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends Markers for the leaves and Light Real Red and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends Markers for the blooms. They are fussy-cut and also popped up with Dimensionals. I finished by floating some Gilded Gems around the sentiment.
Supplies for this card will be included in both the 6-Card and 20-Card Class Kits!
Two Cool—My second card begins with an Early Espresso card base and texture embossed layer.
DSP Trio—I selected three different coordinating patterns of Ornate Garden for this version and tied up the layer with Mint Macaron Textile Ribbon.
Sweet Sentiment—I created the same sentiment and accents and positioned them at the top of the card.
Three Cool—This card layout is great for any coordinating paper! My third card uses strips from the Magnolia Lane DSP and I tied it with the Magnolia Lane Ribbon The Crumb Cake card base has a 4" x 5-1/4" layer that was textured embossed with the Layered Leaves Folder.
You'll be able to create this card if you earn the 6-Card Class Kit!
Sweet Sentiment—I finished by replicating the sentiment from the previous cards, inked in Mossy Meadow. I simply cut out a flower from the DSP to adorn the sentiment. I accented the greeting with some Petal Pink Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
