Ornate Garden So Grateful Bridge Card
I had never made a bridge card before, so when I received a cool swap card from Susie Wood, she inspired me to try it! It was super-easy and so fun! Have you ever tried one?
Card Base Basics—The card base begins with an 11" x 4-1/4" piece of Terracotta Tile cardstock that I cut into three panels: 6-3/4" x 4-1/4", 3" x 4-1/4" and 1-1/4" x 4-1/4". I scored the largest one at the 5-1/2" mark to create the card base. The medium size will be used as a layer on the bridge and the skinny panel becomes the right edge of the card front.
Bridge Details—I adhered a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card. Then, I stamped the Ornate Style floral image in Terracotta Tile ink onto the left front card flap and the skinny panel. Next, I closed the short card front, laid the skinny panel flush along the right edge of the card and adhered a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Old Olive across the middle to connect or "bridge" the two sides together using Tear & Tape Adhesive.
I adhered the Terracotta Tile panel onto the bridge, then decorated it with a 4" x 2-3/4" piece of the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Ornate Thanks sentiment in Early Espresso onto a Whisper White Ornate Layers rectangle die-cut. It's popped up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I attached an Ornate Garden Terracotta Tile Ribbon bow to the sentiment with a Glue Dot, then added a single Gilded Gem.
Inside The Card—I added a coordinating greeting on the inside from the Ornate Thanks stamp set in Early Espresso.
Two Cool—This is the card that I received from Susie Wood that inspired my card above. She has an Early Espresso card base, also stamped with the Ornate Style floral image in matching ink.
Bridge Details—Susie has a little bit shorter bridge on her card. The Old Olive layer measures 3-1/2" x 3-1/2", the Early Espresso layer is 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" and the DSP is 3" x 3".
Sweet Sentiment—Susie stamped the same sentiment on the same die-cut, then layered it onto a 4-1/4" x 1-1/4" Early Espresso and 4-1/2" x 1-1/2" Old Olive layer. She added an Old Olive Ornate Garden Ribbon bow. Super-cute card, Susie! Thanks for the idea!
