Hi Stamping Friends!

Those of you who follow this blog know that I do not often do whimsical cards, but the cows in the Over The Moon stamp set are simply too cute to resist! I had so much fun creating Over The Moon projects for this week's Facebook LIVE class!

Today, I'll be sharing details from the first project from the LIVE class. Unfortunately, I was having some internet connection issues during my LIVE video, so the video is a little fuzzy and there's a short pause right at the beginning. Ugh…I hate when that happens! Anyway, I'll be sharing the photos and details here, so you can get an in-focus look at the projects!

Over The Moon Cow's It Going In Color Cards

I'm so, so very happy that our NEW 6×6" Designer Series Papers, the ones that come in all of the color collections, include a gingham pattern! That means that we can play with gingham in EVERY Stampin' Up! color! Woohoo! For today's cards, I used the 2019-2021 In Color DSP and the NEW In Color Stampin' Blends Markers to help me create these adorable projects!

Background Basics—I started by embossing a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Rococo Rose cardstock with the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder. I mounted it onto a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic Black using a combination of Tear & Tape and SNAIL adhesives for a secure hold. Next, I added a 1" x 5" strip of Rococo Rose DSP and a 3-3/4" x 1-3/4" piece of Gray Granite cardstock to create a little foundation for my focal point.

Scallop Ribbon—The NEW In Color Scallop Ribbon is nice, but I wanted something a little less obtrusive for this card, so I trimmed off one edge of the ribbon. I love the look of this skinny crocheted trim! I wrapped the ends around the back and secured them with more Tear & Tape adhesive. Then, I mounted everything onto a sturdy Thick Whisper White card base.

Cool Cow—I stamped the Over The Moon cow in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a Whisper White Stitched Shapes die-cut. I colored the cow in with Stampin' Blends Markers: Light Basic Black for the spots, tail and hair; Dark Gray Granite for the horns and hooves; Dark Rococo Rose for the flower and boots; Light Mango Melody for the flower center; Light Granny Apple Green for the leaves; and Petal Pink for the ears, nostrils and tail. I popped up this focal point with Dimensionals.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Over The Moon sentiment in Memento Black onto Petal Pink scrap cardstock and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch. I created a shorted version of the shape by punching the words so they were to the left, then re-punching the right side off of the original punched shape. TIP: Watch the LIVE Class Video posted above to see how to do this…starting at the 19-minute mark. The sentiment is attached with a Dimensional on one side and SNAIL on the other.

Finishing Touches—I'm so happy that the Gingham Gala Adhesive-Back Sequins carried over into the new catalog! I added some of the Grapefruit Grove flowers to this card and it looks terrific! The iridescent peachy pink tones look amazing with the Rococo Rose and Petal Pink color combination…PERFECT!

I also added some shimmery Wink of Stella to the flower and the boots! Sparkly goodness!

Sweet Series—I had so much fun making the first card, so I thought I'd make a whole In Color series! The Stampin' Blends Markers now come in all of the In Colors except Terracotta Tile, so I stuck to those four colors.

Two Cool—The Seaside Spray version features the background, gingham DSP and ribbon in Seaside Spray. I colored the flowers and boots with the Seaside Spray Blends and the greeting is on Seaside Spray cardstock.

Gingham Gala Sequins—I was delighted to discover that the Gingham Gala Sequins blue accents matched the Seaside Spray color very well!

Three Cool—The Purple Posy version features the background, gingham DSP and ribbon in Purple Posy. I colored the flowers and boots with the Purple Posy Blends and the greeting is on Purple Posy cardstock. We may not have the Purple Posy ink right now while Stampin' Up! is correcting the quality issues, but at least we can play with the ink from the Blends and Stampin' Write Markers! Whew!

Gingham Gala Sequins—Again, it was great to discover that the Gingham Gala sequins in the darker Gorgeous Grape color still worked well on this version.

Four Cool—Finally, the Pretty Peacock version features the background, gingham DSP and ribbon in Pretty Peacock. I colored the flowers and boots with the Pretty Peacock Blends and the greeting is on Pool Party cardstock. Oooh, I really like this one!

Gingham Gala Sequins—Would I be able to find some sequins to go with this darker Pretty Peacock color? Why yes…yes I would! The Gingham Gala blue sequins are transparent and have just enough blue/green iridescence that they look really nice with this color! What a pleasant surprise!
