Create Your Own Extended Circle Tri-Fold Card
- Start with a standard vertical card base: 4-1/4" x 11".
- Score along the 11" side at 4-1/8" and 8-1/2".
- With the card fully open, position the 2-5/8" Layering Circles die over the 8-1/2" score line so the fold is in the center of the circle, then run it through the Big Shot.
- Die-cut a Whisper White 2-5/8" Circle with the Layering Circles dies. After adding stamping to the circle…with the card folded closed, adhere the circle to the top of the card that shows through the semi-circle hole with Dimensionals.
- Decorate!
Background Basics—I created my first card with a Mint Macaron tri-fold card base. I added a 4" x 2-1/2" piece of Mint Macaron gingham patterned Designer Series Paper along the bottom. I dressed it up by tying some of the new Mint Macaron 1/4" Textile Ribbon. I'm loving this thin, soft and shimmery ribbon—great for tying! I also embossed a 4" x 7/8" piece of Mint Macaron cardstock with the Pinewood Planks folder and adhered it to the top panel with a Tear & Tape adhesive.
Cool Cow—I stamped the Over The Moon cow in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a Whisper White Layering Circles die-cut. I colored the cow in with Stampin' Blends Markers: Light Basic Black for the spots; Bronze for the tail and hair; Dark Gray Granite for the hooves; and Flirty Flamingo for the ears, nostrils, udder and tail. Next, I stamped the Over The Moon grass image in Mint Macaron ink all over the bottom of the circle and colored it in with the Mint Macaron Blends Marker.
Finishing Touches—I stamped the Over The Moon heart image onto a scrap of DSP, hand-cut it and adhered it above the cow. I finished by adding some Wink of Stella shimmer to all of the colored areas, including the heart.
Mounting The Circle—Before mounting it, I added a Soft Sea Foam circle die-cut to the back, because the Blends ink tends to bleed through and I wanted it to look nicer. With the card closed, I added Dimensionals to the bottom flap of the card that was showing inside the circle hole, then mounted the stamped circle onto that.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Over The Moon sentiment in Memento Black onto a 2-1/2" x 3/8" strip of Soft Sea Foam cardstock and adhered it to the card front with SNAIL. I finished by adding a brand new silver Designer Embellishment. The extra weight of this metal accent will help to keep the top panel laying flat.
Opening The Card—I added a 4" x 1/2" strip of Silver Foil across the top of this panel to dress it up a bit.
Inside The Card—I stamped another sentiment and cow on the 4" x 2-3/4" Whisper White inside layer, colored in the cow and added some Wink of Stella to her, too! Isn't this a fun card?!
Two Cool—My second version begins with a Rococo Rose card base.
Front Décor—I decorated the front with Rococo Rose In Color DSP at the bottom and tied the NEW Rococo Rose Gathered Ribbon around this panel. This two-toned ribbon has a shimmery, gathered, "gold" center, that really looks like copper to me. It's gorgeous!
Cool Cow 2—I stamped a different cow on this one, coloring the spots & hair with Light Basic Black; hooves with Dark Gray Granite; flower with Dark Rococo Rose & Light Mango Melody; leaves with Light Granny Apple Green; and nostrils, tail and ears with Flirty Flamingo. This time, I stamped the flower on scrap white, colored it, cut it out and popped it up with Dimensionals. I also stamped the boots onto the gingham paper, cut them out and paper-pieced them back onto the image.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped this sentiment onto a 2-7/8" x 1/2" piece of Blushing Bride and added a copper Designer Element to match the ribbon.
The strip along the inside is Copper Foil this time.
Card Inside—I finished the inside with a moon to match the moon sentiment on the front, along with the peeking cow.
