Owl-tastsic Project Ideas

Today, I have a couple more fun owl projects to share!  Several of my Stamp Club members purchased the Owl Punch already…you know you want one, too!

Halloween owl mini card

This is a quick 3×3" card I created with the Owl Punch and Wicked Fun Specialty Paper.  There are so many ways to change Mr. Owl's personality by changing up the colors, or placing the pieces a little differently, or adding some other pieces.  This owl, I call him Jimmy, is making an expressive, Vanna-like motion with his wing (or he's flashing his heart!).  Do you recognize that wing?  It is from the Bird Punch!  It totally works for owl wings, too!  Awesome!  I also added a beak that I cut from a punched heart shape.

Card Supplies: Owl Punch, Bird Punch, Wicked Fun DSP, Sweet & Sour DSP, Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp, Rich Razzleberry Taffeta Ribbon, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink.  Card stock: Rich Razzleberry, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, So Saffron, Whisper White, and Basic Black.

STamp Club sept 2010 - carmen owl treat holder

I think this Owl Treat Box is adorable!  Carmen DeBruce, our resident Stamp Club punch queen created a sleepy looking owl for this project.  Those eyelids really change the whole demeanor of our little owl friend. And, she combined the Large Oval Punch and a creatively cut second Owl Punch to make the cute witch's hat!  Love it!  She (I think this one's a girl) is sitting on a Bird Punch branch in front of a 1-3/4" Circle Punch moon.  I like how Carmen sponged Ms. Owl. (I wonder what her name is?  Samantha?  I grew up on Bewitched) with White Craft Ink.  Looks like he's basking in the moon's glow!

I also like her use of rebar wire for the handle.  You can get this at Lowe's, Home Depot, Menards, or a similar hardware store. I'm not sure what style of box she used, but it looks similar to the 2-5-7-10 Box without the lid.

Supplies Used: Owl Punch, Bird Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Night of Navy Classic Ink, White Gel Pen, White Craft Ink, Sponges.  Card stock: Night of Navy, Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Whisper White.

Here's another cute idea that Carmen shared with us at Stamp Club…an Owl Mini Post-It Note Holder.  She started with the Two Tags Die to create a base, added in about 1/4 of a pad of Post-It's, and punched a hole through it all with the Crop-A-Dile to add a book ring.  Then she decorated it with another cute owl, Jackson(?), who's wearing a Play Date DSP vest.  Too cute…and functional!

Supplies Used: Owl Punch, Bird Punch, Two Tags Die, Crop-a-Dile, Play Date DSP, Mini Post-Its, Book Ring.  Card stock: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Garden Green, Basic Black.

I've got more Stamp Club projects to show you real soon!
