Oh my goodness…the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Papers are SO LOVELY! I adore the watercolored look, and these papers are created with photos of actual watercolored paintings by Stampin' Up! artists! I used two patterns as the beautiful backgrounds for today's pair of Painted Poppies cards.
Background Basics—I began with an Old Olive vertically folded card, measuring 11" x 4-1/4" and scored at 5-1/2". I decorated the front with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Peaceful Poppies DSP.
Next, I stamped a sentiment from Peaceful Moments in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 4" x 2" piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock and adhered it across the bottom of the card front.
Altered Ribbon—To get that rich Poppy Parade colored ribbon, I colored on a Petal Pink Metallic-Edge Ribbon with a Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends Marker. Using the brush tip end, the color glides on so easily and bleeds through completely to the other side for full color. And, because it's alcohol-based formula, it dries quickly, too, so it won't leave ink residue on your other elements!
Poppy Label—I stamped the Painted Poppies image in Memento Black onto a Whisper White Painted Labels die-cut. Check out the subtle, embossed border that the die makes on this pretty label shape! So cool!
Next, I colored in the image with Light Poppy Parade and Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends Markers. Notice that I didn't color the image all the way, leaving some white space to better mimic the flowers in the paper. I finished by popping up the element with Dimensionals and adding a few floating Champagne Rhinestone Jewels. The jewels match the metallic edge of the ribbon!
Two Cool—My second card starts with a vertically folded Pool Party card base and a different pattern of DSP.
This time, I embossed the Rich Razzleberry layer with the 3D Brick & Mortar folder. I tied some Bermuda Bay Mini Striped Ribbon around this card, but the Poppy Parade altered ribbon would look amazing here, too!
Focal Point—The focal point is the same as the first card, but this time, I adhered the sentiment across the top of it. The Peaceful Moments greeting is stamped onto a 2-1/4" x 3/4" piece of Pool Party, then topped with a single Champagne Rhinestone.
