Parcels & Petals Laser-Cut Front Flap Cards
The Shimmer Laser-Cut Specialty DSP has 3 each of two 12×12" laser-cut designs in each package, featuring shimmery Very Vanilla on one side and Whisper White on the other. On today's projects, I used a small piece of the large 12×12" sheet with the Whisper White card showing. I love how this non-traditional front flap card looks with that cool laser-cut paper on the soft, subtle background! It makes me want to create one in every color!
Background Basics—I started with a quarter-sheet Thick Whisper White card base measuring 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" for the card's foundation. Next, I embossed a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Petal Pink cardstock with the Subtle embossing folder and adhered it to the card base with a combination of Tear & Tape & SNAIL adhesives.
Front Flap Details—The opening of the card is actually a skinny flap of Whisper White Thick cardstock measuring 10-1/2" x 2-1/2" and scored at the 5-1/4" mark. Before adhering it to the card base with Tear & Tape and SNAIL, I stamped the Parcels & Petals triple border image in Flirty Flamingo ink across the bottom. I also added a sentiment from the set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Lovely Laser-Cut—To decorate the flap, I embossed a 2-1/4" x 5" piece of Petal Pink with the Subtle embossing folder first. Next, I adhered some of the Shimmer Detail Laser-Cut DSP over the piece by sponging on Multpurpose Liquid Glue onto the back, then trimming the edges flush with the Petal Pink piece. The layer is adhered to the front flap with Tear & Tape and SNAIL.
Fantastic Focal Point—I inked up the Parcels & Petals flower stamp with Petal Pink ink, then sponged Flirty Flamingo ink around the edges of the flowers with a Sponge Dauber. It's stamped onto a Stitched Shapes Whisper White circle. I stamped a sentiment over the top in Memento Black ink, then added a matching Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins to each of the flower centers. The circle is mounted onto the flap with Dimensionals.
Two Cool—I tried the same card design with Purple Posy & Seaside Spray for the second version.
Floral Fun—I sponged on some Highland Heather on the flower centers, then sponged Seaside Spray ink around the edges of the flowers for the two-tone look. The iridescent blue sequins from the Gingham Gala sequins look amazing with this color combination!
Three Cool—My third version, the one I demonstrate step-by-step in the LIVE Class, features So Saffron for the background color.
Fabulous Flowers—I inked these flowers in So Saffron first, then sponged on some Mango Melody. They are topped with yellow Gingham Gala sequins.
