Peaceful Petals Ghirardelli Chocolate Treat Holder

Too Cool Classes!

Peaceful petals class - ensembleHi Stamping Friends!

There are just 5 Days Left to sign up for my April Peaceful Petals Class-To-Go Kit. Registration ends on April 15, so contact me today!

I want to thank my stamping friends for their enthusiastic response to my latest kits!  I'm having so much fun putting them together and I love that you're enjoying them, too!

I've got some great news to share with you!

Too Cool Stamp-of-the Month Program—Back in January, I set up my Spring Spectacular Class Series to be a short-term trial run for a Stamp-of-the-Month style program.  This 5-month series ends in May, but I've received such a fantastic response to it, that I've decided to continue creating kits for a featured stamp EVERY month!  Woohoo!

Starting in June, I'll be planning kits spotlighting stamp sets from the brand new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog.  I can't wait to see the catalog, so I can start planning!  Look for more information on upcoming kits to be announced mid-May.

Until then, here's another peek at one of the projects from this month's Peaceful Petals Class-To-Go Kit. You can find details on the Triple-Time Petals card and Colored Bloom On Vellum card already posted.

CASEd from my stamping friend Janet Shinn.

I love brightening up someone's day with a little unexpected treat and this Peaceful Petals Class-To-Go Kit project makes the perfect little gift!

My class participants can select either the gold or silver versions for their kit, and I'm even including the chocolate!

Basic Treat Holder Assembly—I love this style of treat holder, because it is fast and easy!  See how it looks on the inside on the photo shown further down on this post.  Here are the basic steps for putting it together!

  • Start with a 10-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of card stock
  • Score at the 3-1/2" and 7" marks
  • Trim off a diagonal starting at the 7" mark on one side to the 10-1/2" end on the opposite side
  • Secure the pocket with Sticky Strip along the bottom
  • Add your treat!

You can get two projects out of one sheet of card stock!

Front Cover—I stamped the leaves from the Peaceful Petals stamp set all over the front of my Whisper White treat cover with Crushed Curry ink for a pretty patterned background.

Foil Embossing—Check out the look of that Gold Foil embossed with the Decorative Dots Impressions Folder!  I love that shiny texture!  My foil measures 3-1/2" x 1-1/4" and it's layered on a 3-1/2" x 1-1/2" piece of Crushed Curry card stock.

Chalk Marker Flower Highlights—I stamped the beautiful bloom image in StazOn Black on So Saffron, and trimmed it by hand. Then, I used the tip of my White Stampin' Chalk Marker to add highlights to the "folded over" edges of the petals.  The marker is included in the class kit, so you'll have the tool you need to create the same look!

Next, I used my So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker to add some shading to each petal.  Such a fun, detailed look!

I tied a little Gold Baker's Twine in a knot and adhered it to the flower center with a Glue Dot.  You'll get a full package of Baker's Twine in the kit!

Ribbon Closure—Before attaching the bloom accent to the cover with Dimensionals, I wrapped an 18" piece of Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon around the packet.  I positioned the flower over the top so that the ribbon would be loose and able to slide easily behind it.

Inside The Packet—Untie the cute little packet and there's a pocket inside to hold a Ghirardelli Chocolate!  Too cute!  The Caramel flavor matches the gold treat pouch and the Raspberry matches the purple one below…you know it's all about coordination!

The Peaceful Petals sentiment is stamped in Crushed Curry and the leaves are stamped in So Saffron.  A 3-3/8" square piece of Gold Fancy Foil Vellum is tucked inside the pocket and secured with Glue Dots.  Don't forget, you'll get a 1/2 package of the Fancy Foil Vellum in your kit!

Silver Version—I selected purple colors for the silver version of this treat.  The background is stamped in Elegant Eggplant, and the embossed Silver Foil is layered onto Elegant Eggplant card stock.

Peaceful treat holder - silver 2

Wisteria Bloom—The flower is stamped Wisteria Wonder card stock, highlighted with the Chalk Marker and shaded with the Wisteria Wonder Marker.  It's topped off with the Silver Baker's Twine knot.

I stamped the Peaceful Petals sentiment on the inside with Basic Gray, and the leaves with Smoky Slate to go along with the Silver Fancy Foil Vellum.
