Christmas Quilt Trees - 4 cool

Quilted Christmas Peaceful Trees Cards

I love how Stampin' Up! has been offering Designer Series Papers patterns that not only make awesome backgrounds, but also include some images that can be used as focal points, as well!  I featured the Quilted Christmas DSP in combination with some simple stamping on these four cards from my Christmas Quilt Countdown To Christmas class!

Background Basics—The background of these cards begin with a 5" x 3-3/4" layer of Whisper White that's embossed with the Quilt Top Texture Impressions Folder.  That subtle stitched design adds just the right amount of texture & detail without distracting from the focal point.  It's layered onto a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" Pool Party mat.

Background Accents—I stamped the Christmas Quilt sentiment in Garden Green onto a 5" x 3/4" strip of Lemon Lime Twist and adhered it across the front of the quilted background.  Next, I wrapped some of the coordinating Quilted Christmas 1/4" Ribbon around the layers and tied it into a double-knot.  The whole thing is mounted onto a Real Red card base, then adorned with a couple of Rhinestone Jewels.

Sweet Trees—One of the patterns of Quilted Christmas DSP has dozens of colorful Christmas trees, so I hand-cut several of those and picked out three colors of tress that I thought looked very nice together.  There are also two Christmas Quilt images in a tree shape, so I stamped one in Pool Party and one in Lemon Lime Twist onto Whisper White.  I cut those out with the Quilt Builder Framelit dies.
Festive Forest Assembly—I die-cut a Whisper White foundation for my trees with the Layering Ovals Framelits, then started adding my festive forest.  I mounted the Real Red & Pool Party trees to the back with SNAIL, then popped up the remaining trees over the top with Dimensionals.  I wanted the tree that was front and center to be spotlighted, so it's the only one with a tree base.  I stamped the base image in Early Espresso, die-cut it with the dies and popped up with a Mini Dimensional.  I decorated the top of the tree with a mini Silver Foil star, also die-cut with the Quilt Builder dies.  I had to cut a tiny corner of a Dimensional to pop that up!

Two Cool—Of course, I always like to have another version of the first card, so this time I used a Real Red mat and a Pool Party card base.

I tried out some different patterns and arrangements of the trees, too!  And the Rhinestones are twinkling on the trees on this one.

Three Cool—I switched the sentiment to the opposite side and played with more tree combinations on the third card.

Four Cool—One more with more tree combinations.  Mixin' & matchin', mixin' & matchin'…my favorite!
