Can't wait to see my friends at my "Last Thursdays" class tonight! We always have a great group and lots of fun!
Unfortunately, I'm running behind today and I have a little bit of work left to do.
Somehow, in the next few hours, I need to get my three tables of mess cleaned up and ready for my guests. How in the world does it get this way so quickly?!
I can tell you the main reason…I craft in one area until I run out of room, and then I just move down to a cleaner spot rather than put stuff away. It's a horrible sickness. Typically, my work space is only about a 12" x 12" area where I keep pushing crap out of the way. And, I have three 6' tables to work on. I only seem to do a whirlwind cleaning of all of the tables when I, a) officailly run out of room, b) can't find something that I need, or c) have guests coming over. Embarrassing, but true. Does anyone else have this problem? <sigh>
Anyway, my friends will have plenty of space to create by 6:30pm, I promise! 😀

Today, I'm sharing a beautiful card created by Peggy Tassler for her daughter's birthday. She added so many lovely details to make this card extra fancy!
Background Basics—The 3-3/4" x 5" Very Vanilla background was stamped with the splatter and lines elements from the Gorgeous Grunge set in Elegant Eggplant and Marina Mist. It creates a pretty foundation on which to attach the flowers.
Flower Fun—Peggy stamped the Petite Petals images in Marina Mist and Strawberry Slush (I think. Correct me if I'm wrong, Peggy), then punched them out with coordinating Petite Petals Punch. Notice that she sponged the edges of every single bloom! Very nice!
Then, she filled in some of the spaces with Marina Mist and Elegant Eggplant punch-outs using the flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.
Each of the flowers has a tiny Pearl Jewels in the center. Love those details! I wish I would have taken a close-up photo of those amazing flowers!
Baker's Twine Accent—Peggy added just a bit of glitz and texture with the Silver Baker's Twine loops…so sweet!
Sweet Sentiment—The birthday greeting from the Label Love set was also stamped in Marina Mist, then punched with the Artisan Label Punch. It's framed with an Elegant Eggplant punch in the same shape, cut in half and repositioned on the top and bottom.
Front Cover—The stamped layer is mounted on a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Marina Mist, then adhered to a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Elegant Eggplant card front. It's actually the cover to a fancy-folded accordion card.
Check out the awesome inside of this accordion-folded card! I don't have the exact measurements, but I'm taking a guess that here is how she did it…
Accordion Fold Card How-To:
Start with a 5-1/2" x 12" piece of Very Vanilla card stock.
Score along the 12" side at 3", 6" and 9".
Fold it so the opposite ends are flush, then cut both layers into a curvy, diagonal edge.
Adhere those end panels to the front and back covers, which measure 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".
Decorate!
Peggy outdid herself with the inside décor! There are more Gorgeous Grunge splatter along the diagonal edge. Then, tons more of those blooms! The middle 2-1/2" x 5" Very Vanilla panels leave plenty of room for writing, and they are mounted on 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" Marina Mist layers. If those center panels look odd in the photo, it's because I attempted to "photoshop" out Peggy's note to her daughter. Don't look too close! LOL!

You are not alone my dear! I work at the end of my dining room table (seats 8) and instead of putting things away after a project, I shove them towards the other end. The cat doesn’t much care for that as she likes to lay in front of me and sleep. LOL
Like you, running out of room, searching for a missing inkpad or the girls coming over forces me to put it all away and start again!
You are in good company, if I do say so myself!
You are so spot-on with your craft room saga. I am in the process of cleaning up my dining room table right now…finally found what I was looking for! The craft room tables are another story…if I really get busy, I might be able to craft one of them as well. New catalog, now new Holiday catalog…oh my!!!
I was laughing so hard when I read your blog. This is me! In fact I have multiple containers in my bedroom of stamping things for every time I had to clear off the dining table when guests came over. You would think I would later put away the items in the containers, but I end up just buying more containers! And I can relate to that 12″x12″ space! I know it’s really bad when I start cutting and scoring on other things piled on the table because I ran out of room.
OMG, you are so messy….AND so am I. You described me to a T. Actually, sometimes my workspace is 8×8, LOL. But then, I have to stop and put everything back and start all over again. It’s clean and clear for my workshops, funny how that works!
I am so glad that I am not the only one who has a messy work space. I do exactly the same as you, I keep moving onto a clearer spot and start all over again. My husband says that where there is a flat surface, I put things on it. I have to show him your blog. Thanks for sharing.
Did you know you qualify for a pilot’s license—I pile it there, I pile it here!
Us creative types must stick together! Funny thing is, I know exactly where it is all located until I have to clean it up out of force or embarrassment!

I completely forgot to say how beautiful this card is!!! Thank you for sharing!
