Perfectly Plaid In Beautiful Garden Green

Hi Stamping Friends!

Today, I'm sharing a couple of lovely Perfectly Plaid cards, both in Garden Green & Very Vanilla, and both offering lots of texture. I've been having lots of fun playing with these adorably trendy trees as I'm putting the final touches on Part 3 of my Countdown To Christmas Class featuring this set!  I'll have more information about that Perfectly Plaid online kit in the next few days. These cards are not in the online kit, so enjoy this additional inspiration!

Perfectly Plaid Wrapped In Love Card

The Garden Green, Very Vanilla and Gold Foil color combination of this Perfectly Plaid card is so elegant, and the textures and little details add to its charm.

Background Basics—I started with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that I embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  Next, I adhered a 4" x 1" piece of the Garden Green striped Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper across the bottom.  I added a 4" x 1/4" strip of Gold Foil right above the DSP, then mounted the layers onto a Very Vanilla Thick cardstock card base.

Fancy Frame—I created a foundation for the pine tree by die-cutting a Very Vanilla Stitched Rectangle shape measuring approximately 2-1/8" x 3-1/2". I also die-cut a Gold Foil fancy frame using the Ornate Frames dies (you know, from the Halloween-themed Monster Bash suite!). Both layers are adhered with SNAIL adhesive.

Pretty Pine—I stamped the Perfectly Plaid image in Garden Green ink onto Very Vanilla and punched it out with the handy Pine Tree Punch  It's popped up with Dimensionals onto the frame.

Finishing Touches—I stamped the Perfectly Plaid sentiment in Garden Green ink onto a 3" x 5/8" strip of Very Vanilla, fishtail cut the ends and popped that up over the tree.  I finished by adding a couple of gold Metallic Pearl Jewels.  So, so pretty!

Perfectly Plaid Merry Christmas Card

I received this pretty swap card from Ruth Bingle and she also had fun with the Garden Green & Very Vanilla color scheme and textures.

Background Basics—Like my card, Ruth's begins with a Very Vanilla Thick card base. She added a beautiful texture embossed frame onto a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Garden Green cardstock with the Heirloom Frames 3D Embossing Folders.  She stamped the Perfectly Plaid sentiment underneath the frame in Cherry Cobbler ink and also added a strip of the Garden Green 3/8" Double-Stitched Ribbon down the side.

Focal Point—Ruth embossed a 1-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the Subtle Embossing Folder, lightly sponged it with some Crumb Cake ink and popped it up inside the frame with Dimensionals.  Next, she stamped the Perfectly Plaid tree in Garden Green ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock, punched it with the Pine Tree Punch and sponging it with Garden Green ink.  She stamped the trunk of the tree in Soft Suede ink, adding a little sponging to that area, as well.  The tree is adhered with Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—Ruth finished up this card with a double Linen Thread bow, attached with a Glue Dot and a single copper-colored Star Element at the top of the tree.  Adorable!
