Hi Stamping Friends!

I'd like to give a big shout-out to everyone who attended my "Last Thursdays" class last night! Thank you so much for coming to stamp with me! Today's cards are one of the projects that we created at the class.

Background Basics—We went stamping crazing for the background of this card using a random stamping technique to create a beautiful piece of handmade patterned paper. More on this below.

My stamped sheet measures 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and is mounted on a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Bermuda Bay.

Background Elements—I die-cut a 4" x 1" strip of Pool Party card stock with the Adorning Accents Edgelits and adhered that across background. A piece of Strawberry Ruffle Stretch Trim was adhered around the the front before attaching the whole stamped piece to the Strawberry Slush card base.

One-Sheet Wonder—I actually started with a full sheet of Whisper White card stock, then cut pieces to use on my cards. The above photo is the half sheet that I had left after doing two cards. I plan to cut it up to use on several different projects that will all match. How fun!

Random Stamping TIPS—Keep these things in mind to achieve best results…

Stamp in a diagonal pattern and have some images going off the edge.
Stamp in order from big images to smaller images.
Stamp from one side of the page to the other, or from the center working outward.

For This Project—I've broken down the steps I took to make my sheet.

Start with the largest flower in Strawberry Slush. Space the images about 2" apart.
Stamp the next size flower in Bermuda Bay. I stamped two of them touching each Strawbery Slush image.
Stamp the leaves image in Pink Pirouette in-between the images whevever there's a large enough space with little overlapping.
Stamp the arrows in Baked Brown Sugar to fill in the small gaps that remain.
Stamp the scallops in Pool Party in any other thin spaces of white that's showing.

Pennants—I die-cut a couple of pennants with the Banners Framelits in Pink Pirouette and Baked Brown Sugar and tucked them under the ruffled ribbon. I added a Rhinestone Jewel accent to the bottom of one banner.

Sweet Sentiment—The See Ya Later sentiment is stamped in Strawberry Slush onto Whisper White card stock and die-cut with the Ovals Collection Framelits.

The greeting is adorned with some Itty Bitty Shapes Pack flower punch-outs. I gave them some dimension by curving them around the tip of my Bone Folder, then adhered them with a dab of Multipurpose Glue. Rhinestone Jewels give them some sparkle.

I played around with the colors of some of the elements on my second card. The card base and Ruffle Stretch Trim are now Baked Brown Sugar, and one of my pennants is now Strawberry Slush. I also used the Large Scallop Edgelits for the background element and inked the sentiment in Bermuda Bay.
