Petal Promenade Amazing Birthday 3-Panel Cards
One of my favorite Designer Series Papers from the Annual Catalog is the Petal Promenade paper. It features gorgeous imagery of real flowers that are perfect for a variety of occasions: spring, Easter, Mother's Day, weddings, anniversary and birthdays. I found this awesome 3-Panel card design shared by Tracy Bradley and I couldn't resist trying it out! It's the perfect fancy-fold card to feature these beautiful papers. Best of all, you can earn Petal Promenade DSP right now for FREE with a $50 order during Sale-a-Bration thru March 31, 2019.
See How They Made The Petal Promenade DSP: Design Process For Petal Promenade Paper
Background Basics—This card begins by embossing a piece of 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White cardstock with the Country Floral Dynamic Texture Impressions Folder. I adhered it to a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Thick Whisper White quarter-sheet card base with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
3-Panel Card Front—The fancy fold on this card begins with a half sheet of cardstock: 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 1-1/2", 3", 5-1/2" and 8" along the 11" side. I love using my Simply Scored tool for fast & easy scoring like this. I accordion folded the panels with the shortest panel the on the top. Next, I cut three pieces of Petal Promenade DSP to decorate each of the front-facing panels: 1-1/4" x 4", 2-1/4" x 4", and 2-3/4" x 4". I mounted the folded card onto a 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Poppy Parade cardstock with Tear & Tape Adhesive, then adhered the whole thing to the front of the card base with more Tear & Tape.
TIP: To make the panels lay flat, I use the very tip of my Bone Folder on each fold and press really hard to make that crease a flat as possible. The weight of the sentiment will also help it stay closed.
TIP: Before adhering the Poppy Parade mat, punch out the Story Label Punch shape from the center of it to use for the sentiment. That's efficient stamping!
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Humming Along sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with the Story Label Punch. I punched a second Poppy Parade label, cut it in half length-wise and positioned the halves along the top and bottom of the sentiment. Then, I popped up half of the label onto the small card front panel.
Finishing Touches—I stamped a Butterfly Gala tiny butterfly in Poppy Parade ink onto Petal Pink cardstock. Next, I used a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to color over the image and pull the ink from the image in to fill the image with shimmery color. It's punched with the Butterfly Duet Punch, attached with a Glue Dot and adorned with Artisan Pearls. I added a couple more pearls under the sentiment, too.
TIP: You can cut your Butterfly Gala photopolymer stamps apart to use each image individually. Make it a jagged cut, so the stamps will fit back together like a puzzle piece, so you can use them together later.
Two Cool—I created a second card with another one of the beautiful Petal Promenade DSP. The mat layers are in Berry Burst.
Sweet Sentiment—This one is stamped in Poppy Parade ink. The butterfly is stamped in Poppy Parade ink onto Whisper White and topped with Berry Burst colored Artisan Pearls.
Every one of these papers looks amazing on this project. Let's try one more!
Three Cool—The mats are in Rich Razzleberry for this darker floral pattern.
Sweet Sentiment—The sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow and the butterfly is stamped in Berry Burst. I think this may be my favorite! Which color combination do you like best?
