Playful Pets Real Treat Front Flap Card #1
I received two Playful Pets swap cards recently that both had a cool "front flap" card front. They both used the same Designer Series Paper, a cat image and the same sentiment…great minds thinking alike! This first card is created by Christine Bertram. Let's check out the details…
Background Basics—Christine embossed a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Real Red cardstock with the Subtle Embossing Folder, then mounted it onto a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" quarter sheet of Basic Black.
Front Flap—The Basic Black "front flap" measures 3-1/4" x 8-1/2" and is scored at the 4-1/4" mark. It's adhered to the card base with SEAL+. A 3" x 4" piece of Whisper White was adhered to the inside for the message.
Decorating The Front Flap—The front is layered with a 3" x 4" piece of Real Red cardstock that's decorated with a 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Playful Pets Designer Series Paper. Those two layers are tied with the Real Red stitched ribbon from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack.
Next, Christine die-cut a Whisper White Stitched Shapes square and layered it onto a 2-3/8" Basic Black square. It's popped up with Dimensionals onto the flap. She cut out a pretty kitty from the Playful Pets DSP and popped that up on the square.
Sweet Sentiment—She finished by stamping a Pampered Pets greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 3-1/8" x 3/4" strip of Whisper White cardstock that was punched on each end with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. She created a Real Red layer by punching a 3-3/8" x 1" strip with the same punch. The layers are popped up with Dimensionals.

Playful Pets Real Treat Front Flap Card #2
Check out this second card, created by Jeanne Kooker! She had the same "front flap" fun fold style of card, except she made it in a vertical orientation. She used many of the same elements. Here's how she did it…
Background Basics—Jeanne's card begins with a 4" x 5-1/4" Basic Black layer mounted onto a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Real Red card base. She decorated that background with a 3-3/4": x 1" strip of striped Playful Pets DSP across the top and a 3-3/4" x 1-3/4" cat-themed pattern across the bottom.
Front Flap—Jeanne's Real Red front flap measures 2-3/4" x 8-1/2" with a score at the 4-1/4" mark. She added a cute little Pampered Pets mouse image in Memento Black onto the 4" x 2-1/2" Whisper White message area.
Decorating The Front Flap—Jeanne added a 4-1/4" x 1/2" strip of Whisper White across the front. Then, she die-cut a Basic Black Stitched So Sweetly scalloped rectangle, stamped the Pampered Pets sentiment on it with VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and heat-set it with the Heat Tool until glossy and smooth. She tied some Real Red stitched ribbon from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack around the rectangle before popping it up with Dimensionals. She finished up by hand-cutting a pretty kitty from the Playful Pets DSP and popping that up with Dimensionals, too.
