Playful Pets Z-Fold Gift Card Holders Cards
I can't tell you how many friends of mine have welcomed a new pet into their homes over the past 7 months! I guess with the pandemic going on, what better time to get a new puppy or kitty, especially when more family members are home to help train them! If you know of someone getting a new furry friend, today's cards are perfect for sending your congratulations, as well as a little something extra! It's also a fantastic card for a pet-lover having a birthday!
Background Basics—The card base on this fun-fold card is a quarter-sheet of cardstock: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" in Basic Gray. I decorated that layer with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Real Red cardstock that was embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.
Fun Fold—To create the Z-Fold, I cut a 9-3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic Gray cardstock, scored at the 3-1/4" and 6-1/2" marks. I folded it accordion style and adhered the back of the last panel directly to the card base with SEAL+ Adhesive.
Decorating The Front Panel—I added a 3" x 4" piece of Playful Pets Designer Series Paper to the front panel of the Z-Fold, then adhered a 3" x 3/4" strip of a contrasting pattern of Playful Pets DSP across the bottom.
Fancy Focal Point—I stamped the Pampered Pets schnauzer in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a Whisper White Stitched Shapes die-cut, then colored it in with Stampin' Blends Markers. I used Smoky Slate for most of the dog, then added a little Flirty Flamingo to his ears and Real Red for his collar. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black and added a pair of Real Red stamped hearts. I finished by tying a knot in the Playful Pets Real Red stitched satin ribbon and attaching it with a Glue Dot to his collar. The circle is layered onto a Real Red Layering Circles scalloped circle and popped up with Dimensionals. So adorable!
Inside The Card—The second panel is decorated with a 3" x 4" pattern from Playful Pets DSP. For the gift card pocket, I adhered a 3" x 1-3/4" piece of matching DSP on three sides with skinny strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive. SEAL Adhesive is too wide and will not leave enough room for the gift card, so be sure to use Tear & Tape or some other skinnier adhesive.
For the final 3" x 4" Whisper White panel, I stamped the Pampered Pets sentiment in Real Red ink and added a Memento Black bowl at the bottom, colored in with Smoky Slate Blends. I love how this turned out!
Two Cool—I created a cat version of this fun-fold gift card holder that is equally adorable! The quarter-sheet is in Cinnamon Cider this time with a Basic Gray textured background
Z-Fold—I used the same dimensionals for the Z-Fold pull-out, this time in Cinnamon Cider.
Decorating The Front—I selected a cat pattern for the front panel, then added a 3" x 3/4" Basic Gray strip textured like the background with the Tasteful Textile Folder. This time, I stamped the cat image onto the Stitched Shapes circle and colored this calico with Light Crumb Cake and Light Cinnamon Cider Stamp Blends. I stamped the butterflies in Real Red above the cat, along with the Memento Black sentiment. I finished up with a Real Red Stitched Satin bow, attached with a Glue Dot. It's layered onto a Flirty Flamingo scalloped circle and popped up.
Inside The Card—I decorated the middle panel with the stripes DSP and another textured Basic Gray piece. The final panel is similar to the first card, with a Cinnamon Cider bowl and a little mouse colored in Smoky Slate. Cute, cute, cute!
