Friday is the day—the NEW 2017 Holiday Catalog is released and the official kick-off to the holiday crafting season begins!

Today, I'm sharing a pair of cards created with the sweetly stitched images from the new Christmas Quilt stamp set and coordinating Quilt Builder Framelits! We'll be making the plum version of the card at my "Last Thursdays" class tomorrow!

Christmas Quilt 8-Point Star Cards

Are you a quilter? If you are, this stamp set is perfect for you! Not a quilter? I think you'll still fall in love with the warm, homey images and awesome possibilities of this beautiful bundle! I've never quilted, but I was drawn to this combo because of the cool patterns and amazing versatility!

I can't wait to play with the complete Quilted Christmas suite of products from the Holiday Catalog, including the coordinating Quilted Christmas Designer Paper, ribbon, felt embellishments and embossing folder! But, it's also so fun to use this bundle with non-holiday colors for "thinking of you" and birthday cards! It's just a fantastic, all-around set!

Background Basics—Check out that cool, stitched background texture! I love the new Quilt Top Texture Impressions Folder, and I think it looks amazing combined with all kinds of stamps, not just the Christmas Quilt set! I embossed a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Lemon Lime Twist card stock, then mounted it onto a Pool Party card base.

Stamped Star—The showpiece of the Christmas Quilt stamp set is the 8-point star pattern that can be created with "two-step" stamping! I stamped the outline of the star in Bermuda Bay ink onto Whisper White card stock. There are two pairs of diamond shapes images used to easily fill in the patterns on the star. I stamped the striped images in Bermuda Bay, and the dotted images in Lemon Lime Twist over the top of the outline. I die-cut the stamped star shape with the Quilt Builder Framelits.

Foil Star Border—I also die-cut the gorgeous metallic star border die-cut from the brand NEW Champagne Foil using the same set of framelits. OH…how beautiful! No, it's not silver! It has a warmer, rose-tinted tone that softens it a bit.

I attached the stamped die-cut to the back of the border with a Glue Dot in the center and dabs of Fine Tip Glue on each point to secure it in place. It's popped up onto a 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" square of Whisper White, then popped up again onto the card front. I finished it with a small White Baker's Twine bow in the center attached with a "pinched" Glue Dot.

Seasonal Sentiment—I stamped the Cookie Cutter Christmas greeting in Bermuda Bay onto a 3" x 5/8" strip of Whisper White. After "fishtailing" the ends with super-sharp Paper Snips, I popped this up with Dimensionals, as well, then add a couple of Pearl Jewels to each side.

Two Cool—We'll be making this plum birthday version at my class tomorrow!

Background Basics—This time, I embossed a Rich Razzleberry panel with the Quilt Top Embossing Folder and adhered it with the raised stitching side up for a completely different look! It's mounted on a Perfect Plum card base.

Sweet Sentiment—The birthday greeting is from Big On Birthdays, stamped in Perfect Plum ink.
