Powder Pink Lovely Words Cards!
Yesterday I shared the cards that my In Color Club participants will create during their Lemon Lime Twist month. Today, I'm sharing the 4 cards that my Club members will make during their Powder Pink month. I've made two cool versions and featured a pretty new Thinlits set called Lovely Words, as well as a couple of awesome new embossing folders!
Dynamic Texture—The first of the four cards is embossed with the NEW Layering Leaves Dynamic Texture Impressions Folder! This is one of those ultra-thick embossing folders and the foliage pattern is GORGEOUS! Remember, you'll only need ONE cutting plate when embossing with Dynamic Folders. I embossed a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Powder Pink card stock, then adhered it to a Very Vanilla card base.
Pretty Papers—I added a strip of 5-1/4" x 1-1/2" Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper along the center with SNAIL. Then I trimmed the ends of a 4-1/2" piece of 1/2" Powder Pink Finely Woven Ribbon and used SNAIL to adhere it to the center of the DSP.
Watercolor Wash Background—I die-cut a 3" long oval from Watercolor Paper using the Layering Ovals Framelits. To add the wash of color, I scribbled over the watercolor paper with the Powder Pink Stampin' Write Marker. Next, I squeezed my Powder Pink ink pad to transfer ink to the lid, then used that as a palette. I used an Aqua Painter to pick up some additional ink and paint it over the marker strokes, giving it deeper color and blending out the stroke lines to look more like a watercolor wash.
Sweet Sentiment—I die-cut the Lovely Words oval from Gold Foil using a Precision Base Plate to keep the foil smooth & shiny (see my Too Cool Tip Video on Smooth Foil Die-Cuts). I adhered the die-cut to the watercolor paper using a sponge and Multipurpose Glue (see my Too Cool Tip Video on Silicone Craft Mat to learn how to best adhere die-cuts). The focal point is popped up with Dimensionals.
Two Cool—My second card is embossed with the Petal Burst Texture Impressions Folder. This time I fish-tailed the end of the Delightful Daisy DSP banner.
Hugs Sentiment—The focal point begins with a 2-5/8" diameter Layering Circles die-cut shape this time, which coordinates perfectly with the "hugs" Lovely Words Thinlit. I tied a bow with the NEW 1/2" Powder Pink Finely Woven Ribbon and attached it with a Glue Dot.
Three Cool—The next two cards use a Very Vanilla background on a Powder Pink card base. This one is embossed with the Brick Wall Texture Impressions Folder.
New Ribbon—I tied some NEW 1/8" Calypso Coral Sheer Ribbon around the background layers before mounting it onto the card base.
Four Cool—The background on the final card is embossed with the NEW Sweetheart embossing folder.
This folder has a non-textured heart shape in the center, so I matched up the "blank" spot with the heart-shaped Lovely Words die-cut.
I found a coordinating heart shape for the background from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits. I finished this one off by adding a 1/8" Calypso Coral Sheer Ribbon bow with a Glue Dot. So, so sweet!
