Power of Hope Extended Front Cards

I received a cool Power of Hope swap card from Dawn Olchefske that had an interesting extended front. Hers is the Real Red version above and I re-created it in Bermuda Bay with a little adjustment to the size.

Inspired by a swap card by Dawn Olchefske

Background Basics—My version of the extended front card begins with a 9" x 4-1/4" Bermuda Bay card base that's scored at the 4-1/2" mark.

Extended Layer—I cut a 3-3/4" x 5-1/4" Basic Black layer that will become the extended front and added a 3-1/2" x 1/2" strip of Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper along the bottom. Then, I cut all the Whisper White blocks that build the Power of Hope stamped images, all stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink:

2" x 1-5/8" for the tree image
2" x 2-3/4" for the hut image, colored with the Light Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends Marker
1-3/8" x 2-3/4" for the lady, colored with Light Bermuda Bay Blends
1-3/8" x 1-5/8" for the sentiment

Finishing Touches—I added a couple of Noble Peacock Rhinestones for a little sparkle.

I adhered the extended front to the card base using a combination of Tear & Tape and SNAIL adhesives. Then, I stamped the paper lantern image on a 4" x 4-1/4" piece of Whisper White, colored with the Bermuda Blends, for the inside of the card.

Too Cool—The second version is the original swap card that I received from Dawn Olchefske. Her card is slightly smaller, beginning with a 7-1/2" x 4-1/4" Real Red card base that's scored at the 3-3/4" mark.

Extended Front—All of the measurements for the Whisper White blocks are the same as the ones on my card above and the images are colored with the Light Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends Marker. Dawn finished up her card with a couple of Peaceful Poppies Sequins. Thanks for the cool, fun-fold card idea, Dawn!
