Hi Stamping Friends!

Do you swap your hand-made cards with friends? It's so fun!  I love getting awesome new card ideas in styles and layouts that I may not have tried on my own.  It's a great way to spark your creative inspiration!  I can't wait to see all of the swap cards at this weekend's OnStage Stampin' Up! event for demonstrators!  I'm also really looking forward to the unveiling of the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog—EEeee!

Today, I'm sharing two cool swap cards I received featuring the pretty Petal Palette Bundle!

Retired List is Coming Soon!—The Retired List will be released in the afternoon on April 9!  Stampin' Up! is clearing out the old, so they can bring in the awesome new Annual Catalog products!  These items will be available while supplies last only, thru May 31. Don't wait on the retiring In Colors!  See more about those on Monday's post!

Petal Palette Congratulations Card

I love layers and textures and this pretty swap card that I received from Leasa Williams has lots of both!

Background Basics—The Pool Party card base has a full 5-1/2" x 4" layer of the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper covering the card front.  The 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" Pool Party background was stamped with the Petal Palette leaves and flower images in Pool Party ink.

Silver Textures—Before adhering to the card front, the stamped layer was wrapped with Silver Baker's Twine and tied into a bow.  The little lattice strip was die-cut using the Petals & More Thinlits with Silver Glimmer Paper.  It's adhered with Multipurpose Glue.

Bundle It & SAVE—Purchase the Petal Palette stamp set and Petals & More Thinlits together in a Bundle to save 10% over the cost of purchasing them separately.

Watercolored Blooms—The Petal Palette floral image was stamped in Archival Black Ink onto Whisper White cardstock, then watercolored with an Aqua Painter using Classic Ink Pads.  The leaves were colored with Lemon Lime Twist and the flowers with Berry Burst.  Once dry, the image was die-cut with the Petals & More Thinlits, then popped up with Dimensionals.  Look closely and you'll see each bloom has a Clear & Glitter Epoxy Shape that looks like little water droplets!  I LOVE that detail!

Sweet Sentiment—The Petal Palette sentiment was stamped in Pool Party ink on Whisper White cardstock, then die-cut with the pretty label shape in the Petals & More dies.  It's popped up with more Dimensionals.

Petal Palette Life Is Better Card

Our second card today also has lots of fun layers!  The gorgeous coordinating images in the Petal Palette stamp set and Petal Passion DSP make layering so EASY!

Background Basics—The bottom of this Basic Black card base is decorated with a 5-1/2" x 2" strip of striped Petal Passion DSP.  Next, a 5-1/4" strip of Fresh Fig Finely Woven Ribbon was angle-cut on the ends and adhered to the card front with SNAIL adhesive.

Colored DSP—You can use the beautiful Petal Passion black & white patterned papers as is, or give them a whole new look by coloring!  The 3" x 3" floral pattern DSP on this card was colored in with Rich Razzleberry, Pink Pirouette and Old Olive Stampin' Blends Markers, then layered onto a 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" Old Olive mat and popped up with Dimensionals.

Sweet Sentiment—The Petal Palette phrase is stamped in Archival Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock, then stamped underneath it with the dotted image in Pool Party ink.  The greeting was punched out with the 2" Circle Punch, then layered onto a 2-1/4" Old Olive circle punch and a 2-1/2" diameter Layering Circles die-cut in Basic Black.  It's attached to the card front with SNAIL (over the floral background) and Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—The Petal Palette bird was stamped in Archival Black onto Pool Party, then die-cut with the Petals & More Thinlets and popped up.  A Petal Passion Embellishment is tucked under the bird with a Glue Dot as an adorable accent.  The flower centers are also colored with the Wink of Stella brush for some extra glimmer.
