Pretty Pearlescent Seashells Background Cards
The Pearlescent Specialty Paper is sure to bring a touch of shimmery elegance to your hand-stamped projects! I love the look of it on these Sand & Sea cards and I'm thrilled that Stampin' Up! is carrying over this amazing paper into the upcoming Annual Catalog! Yippee! Let's take a closer look…
Background Basics—I embossed a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pearlescent Specialty Paper with the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder, then mounted it onto a Thick Very Vanilla card base. BEAUTIFUL!!! Next, I stamped a Friends Are Like Seashells sentiment in Melon Mambo ink onto the top of a 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper. I love that paper…it reminds me of a beach sunset! I layered the DSP onto a 2-5/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Melon Mambo, then wrapped some Linen Thread around the layers and tied it into a knot, fraying the ends. The piece is popped up onto the card front with Dimensionals.
Sweet Seashells—I stamped three shells from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set onto scraps of Very Vanilla cardstock. The largest shell was inked and Melon Mambo and stamped off once. The sand dollar was stamped in Sahara Sand and the smaller shell was stamped in So Saffron. The sand dollar has it's own die in the Seaside Seashells Dies. The other two can be partially cut out with the larger background die from that set; you just have to trim away some of the excess pieces from the die-cut. I popped up each of the shells onto the card front.
Finishing Touches—Then, I finished up by adding a few Opal Rounds, which looks like beautiful sea glass! So lovely!
Two Cool—The second card features a horizontal orientation and starts with the same Pearlescent background. This time, I used a different section of the same pattern of DSP for a slightly different color combo of Melon Mambo and Seaside Spray. I think this one looks like the beach at dusk. Your LIVE Class Kit will have supplies for either this card or the first card, depending on which part of the DSP ends up in your kit.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Friends Are Like Seashells sentiment in Misty Moonlight this time.
Sweet Shells—The large shell is stamped in stamped-off Melon Mambo, the sand dollar in Sahara Sand and the starfish in either Seaside Spray (already sold out) or stamped-off Misty Moonlight.
