Pretty Perennials Simple Collage Birthday Cards
Between the pretty stamped images and the lovely layers you can create with the coordinating Perennial Petals dies, this bundle is perfect for creating collages! I've designed this card with simple layering and elements, but you could really go wild and build a whole bouquet of lovely layered blooms! The best thing is that your card is going to look fabulous either way!
Background Basics—This card begins by adhering 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" and 1/2" x 5-1/4" strips of True Love Designer Series Paper on the sides of a Coastal Cabana card base. Next, I stamped the Pretty Perennials "happy" in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 2-1/2" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and adhered that between the DSP strips.
Flower Trio—For the collage, I stamped several images from the Pretty Perennials stamp set onto Basic White. The larger flower is stamped in Coastal Cabana and the two smaller flowers are stamped in soon-to-retire Seaside Spray. For those bitty blooms, I stamped the outline image first, then stamped over that with the solid flower two-step image. I did the same for the Granny Apple Green leaves, but I stamped off the solid image once for a lighter two-tone look. All of the images were die-cut with the Perennial Petals Dies.
Flower Details—The single stamped and layered flowers look great on their own, but I added a few details to give the blooms some added depth and interest! For the small flowers, I stamped the tiny dots image in Memento Black on the centers. That really makes them pop! For he larger flower, I added a cool die-cut flower outline in Bermuda Bay cardstock on the top. Then, I stamped a larger flower center image in Memento Black, die-cut that and adhered it with SEAL.
To assemble, I adhered the leaves to the back of the larger flower, then popped up all the flowers with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—To finish out my bouquet, I added some Pool Party Artistry Blooms Sequins and brushed on some Wink of Stella over the flower centers.
Sweet Sentiment—Another one of my favorite things about this stamp set is the coordinating sentiments that go with the word "happy." You can mix and match them depending on the occasion! I chose the birthday greeting and stamped it in Memento Black onto a 1/2" strip of Coastal Cabana, then trimmed it down and popped it up with Dimensionals.
Two Cool—My second card begins with a Poppy Parade card base and I stamped the "happy" up a little higher on the Basic White panel.
Sweet Sentiment—This time, I tried a different sentiment and added it above the "happy," positioning the bouquet below for balance.
Fabulous Flowers—My large flower is stamped in Calypso Coral ink with a Poppy Parade die-cut layer on top. I tried a different flower center this time and colored it in with a Pool Party Stampin' Blends Marker. The smaller flowers are in Coastal Cabana.
