Prized Peony Friendship Refreshes The Soul Cards
Stampin' Blends Markers are my favorite way to add color to large images. On these Prized Peony cards, I experimented with using two different colors of Blends Markers, rather than simply sticking to the Light and Dark of the same color. I love the results!
Background Basics—I added a 5-1/2" x 3/4" strip of Peony Garden Designer Series Paper along the bottom of a Flirty Flamingo card base to start.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the 4" x 2-3/4" Petal Pink sentiment layer with a Prized Peony greeting in Gray Granite ink in the upper right corner, then mounted it onto a 4-1/4" x 3" Gray Granite layer. I tied some Very Vanilla Scallop Lace Trim around the layers and popped them up onto the card front with Dimensionals.
Pretty Peony—The Prized Peony large flower image was stamped in Gray Granite onto Whisper White, then die-cut with the coordinating Peony dies. I colored the entire flower with a Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Marker first. Next, I added some Light Flirty Flamingo shading. Then, I added some Dark Flirty Flamingo detailing and finished out by blending some of the color with the Light Flirty Flamingo Marker.
The leaves are colored first with Dark Soft Seafoam, then Light Old Olive for the shading. I finished by coloring the stem in Light Soft Suede. The flower is popped up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I finished by adding a single Champagne Rhinestone Jewel to the bottom of the sentiment layer.
Two Cool—For the second card, I began with a Misty Moonlight card base and a different DSP pattern in Gray Granite along the bottom. The sentiment is stamped in Misty Moonlight onto a Balmy Blue layer and it's accented with a Rhinestone Jewel colored with a Dark Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blends Marker.
Peony Blend—I colored the whole flower with Light Balmy Blue Blends and added some shading with the Dark Seaside Spray Blends. The leaves and stem are colored the same as the first card.
