Prized Peony Love & Thanks Cards
I received a Prized Peony swap card from Monica Giberti recently and I loved her card layout so much that I copied the design for my LIVE Class cards. You can see her card below.
Background Basics—I love the pretty layers in Monica's design! I started my version of her layout with a Gray Granite card base. I embossed a 3-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Petal Pink cardstock with the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder and mounted it, de-bossed side up, onto the card front.
Sweet Scallops—Next, I die-cut a 1" x 4-1/4" strip of Basic Gray cardstock with the decorative border die from the Peony dies. Not only does it create a lovely scallop, it also adds some de-bossed loop-de-loop detail along the scallops. Love it! I layered the scallop behind a 1-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Peony Garden Designer Series Paper before adhering the layers to the card front.
Sweet Sentiment—I die-cut a Soft Sea Foam Tasteful Labels die-cut to create a foundation for the sentiment. Then I stamped the Prized Peony greeting in Gray Granite ink onto a 4" x 5-1/8" strip of Sahara Sand. I fish-tail cut the end and adhered it flush to the right edge of the card.
Focal Point—I stamped the Prized Peony flower in Petal Pink onto Whisper White cardstock and die-cut it with the coordinating Peony dies. It's popped up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I tied a Linen Thread bow and attached it with a pinched Glue Dot to the flower. I finished by adding a Champagne Rhinestone for some sparkle.
Two Cool—I simply swapped the colors for this second version in the same layout. The embossed layer is now in Gray Granite, adhered with the embossed side showing this time onto the Petal Pink card base. The scallop is still Basic Gray, but it's adhered behind a different Peony Garden DSP pattern.
Colored Peony—I stamped the peony in Gray Granite this time and added a little bit of color to the flower with Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Markers.
Monica's Swap Card—I CASEd this swap card created by Monica Giberti! I adore her layout! She chose Night of Navy as the card base and I love how it looks with the Blushing Bride, Soft Sea Foam and grays. She positioned her scallop on the other side of the DSP and her sentiment strip is in Smoky Slate and positioned flush along the edge of the embossed layer. Thanks for the awesome inspiration, Monica!
