Hey chick 143331GHi Stamping Friends!

That Hey, Chick Sale-a-Bration stamp set is a popular one and it was a big hit at my "Last Thursdays" card class last night!  So, I thought I'd share a couple more projects with this fun set!  It seems like that chicken with the tuft of feathers on his head, the "funky chicken," is the one featured on most projects I've seen, but the other images are fun, too!  We're focusing on the rest of the hen house on today's printable Project Sheets below!

#1 Hey, Chick Tail Feathers Half Gate Card

This card has a fun barnyard feel to it with the natural burlap trim, background pattern and barn-door opening!

Background Basics—The card base is begins with a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" quarter sheet of Cherry Cobber as a base.  A 8-1/4" x 4" piece of Delightful Dijon is scored at the 3" mark and adhered to the Cherry Cobbler foundation to create the half-gate fold.

Tie-Dye Background—The tie-dye image from the Tie Dyed stamp set is stamped in Delightful Dijon ink onto a 3" x 3/1/2" piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Then, the reversed images is inked in Tip Top Taupe and stamped off once before stamping onto the piece again.  It's layered onto a 3-1/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Cherry Cobbler, and adhered to the card front.

Hey Chicken—Stamp the Hey, Chick image in Archival Black ink onto a Very Vanilla circle die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Color the chicken legs and beak with a Delightful Dijon marker.  Color in the "v's" and outline chicken with the Cherry Cobbler marker, then blend over the top with a Blender Pen.

Finishing Details—Tie the Burlap Ribbon in a knot and fray the end.  Adhere to the card front with Glue Dots, then attach the circle element with Dimensionals over the top.  Stamp the Hey, Chick sentiment in black onto Very Vanilla scrap, punch out with the Classic Label Punch and trim flush before adhering to the right, "inside" of the card.

#2 Hey, Chick Nest Box Card

I love that this card uses the cute Hey, Chick "egg" shape and turns it into a super-cute, fuzzy chick!

Background Basics—Adhere a 4-1/4" x 2" piece of the Moroccan Designer Series Paper to the bottom of a Cajun Craze card base.  Attach a 5" piece of Burlap Ribbon above the DSP with Tear & Tape Adhesive and trim the ends flush with the sides of the card.

Nest Box—Use the Fringe Scissors along a 1-1/2" x 3" piece of Crumb Cake card stock to represent blades of straw.  Stamp the 2" x 3/4" piece of Early Espresso card stock with the Hardwood stamp in Early Espresso Ink.  TIP: Lay the Hardwood background stamp face up on the table, ink it up and lay the small card stock piece on the inked stamp.  Burnish it with your fingers to transfer the ink.

Adhere several blades of straw to the back of the wood piece.

Fuzzy Chick—Hold the "wood" piece over a 2" x 2" piece of Whisper White card stock and mark with a pencil where you want to stamp the chick for proper alignment. Stamp the egg/chick image on the white card stock using black ink.  Color the chick using a Daffodil Delight marker. Cut a small triangle from the Pumpkin Pie card stock fold and adhere to the chick to represent a beak. Use it to cover the "crack" on the image.  Use a black marker to create two eyes above the beak and add some fuzz to the outside of the egg!

Finishing Touches—Stamp the sentiment above the chick and adhere the wood piece over the top of the chick.  Mat onto a 2-1/2" square of Basic Black card stock and pop up with Dimensionals.

Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
