It's high school graduation weekend in my neighborhood—go Homestead Spartans (my alma mater)!. Here is a great idea for giving a little financial boost to the new grad. Money is most appreciated, I'm told! 😀
I created this one for my niece, Amanda, who graduated last month from Indiana University (also my alma mater)! Go Hoosiers!
I CASEd a project from the Frenchie Stamps blog: Money Holder Graduation. Carmen DeBruce had another version that I featured on my blog in this post.
- I free-handed the diamond shaped cap…there's got to be an easier way!
- I used the Bird Punch for the wings.
- I rolled up copy paper for the diploma and tied with Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine.
- Tassle is also a piece of Baker's Twine.
- I used Regals Patterns DSP for the "gown."
- The beak is the tip of the heart shape from the Owl Punch.
- I punched a "tab" out the money holder pocket, so you could see the faces on the money peaking through, as well as pull it out easily. Funny thing about being as old as I am…I'm still used to the faces on the bills being in the center! Doh! Guess I'll have to move that tab over the next time…

Nice! Thanks for the link to the tutorial! I, too, am used to seeing the face in the middle.
