Punched Posies Pop Up Card

Punched Posies 118535L If you know me, you know I LOVE any stamp that coordinates with a punch.  I mean, how can you not love something that eliminates cutting around images?!  So, of course, I simply adore the current Level 2 Hostess Set called Punched Posies

When one of my hostesses (waves to Alice) requested that we make a pop up card, this was the first set I thought of.  Typically, you need to cut out tons of images to create a cool pop up scene.  This set offers of variety images for lots of versatility, and with the matching punches, there's no cutting needed!  Bonus!

It was super easy to make this "wow" project!

First, I made a simple version:

Then, I stepped it up a bit, adding more punched and layered images:

Card Details: My colors were based on the Island Oasis Designer
Series Paper on the front of the cards: Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting
Turquoise, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, and Pear Pizzazz.  The sentiment
on the front is from the Apple Blossoms Level 2 Hostess Set.  The
sentiments on the inside are from the Perfect Punches set (another set
where all the images have matching punches!).

Coordinating punches used: Fancy Flower, 5-Petal Flower, 1" Circle,
Butterfly, Wide Oval, Scallop Circle, Scallop Oval, and the circle from
the Itty Bitty Punch Pack (for the flower center).  Ribbon: Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Grosgrain.

How To Make A Simple Pop Up

I cut a 5-1/4 x 8-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock for the inside of the card and folded it in half.  Then, just add pairs of equal-length slits wherever you want to pop it and fold them in.

Here's a visual of what mine looked like from the outside…

And, from the inside…

Then adhere this to the inside of your card.  TIP: Adhere the pop up to one side of the card first, then close the other half of your card base sown over the closed pop-up piece.  This will ensure than the card will stay properly closed.  If you adhere the whole pop up with the card laying open, it may bunch up at the fold when you close it.  Not good.

Then, it's time to decorate!  I adhered my punched posies to the pop up slits with Glue Dots for a secure hold.  I had fun arranging punched flowers (and even a punched butterfly) behind the pop ups and stamping a few more flowers in front and back to create an entire floral garden!
