Hi Stamping Friends!
I have to be honest…between taking care of new puppies and recovering from that nasty flu-bug, it's been a challenge to get back into a stamping routine again. I'm still not 100% well, but it's getting better each day. I've just been trying to take care of myself, keep up with top priority stuff and not worry about getting everything done.
Jax on the left, Millie on the right.
Doggers Update—Jax and Millie are doing great and we're having so much fun with them! They are 4 months old and growing so fast! We've had them just over a month and they've each gained a whole pound in that time! They are both around 4 lbs. right now and they're expected to get to be 8-10 lbs. Considering all of the crazy, rainy & snowy weather we've been having, they're doing remarkably well on potty training, but we still have to keep the eagle-eye on them to prevent accidents. Their hair is getting super long and shaggy. Looks like I'm going to have to give their face a trim soon, because their first grooming appointment isn't until the end of the month.
Fun Times—Jax & Millie spend most of their free time wrestling and biting and chasing each other all over their play area. They used to run like lightning through the maze of kitchen chair legs, but they are hitting their heads on the crossbars now, so it's a little more tricky to maneuver. They are also at the height of teething time, so they love to chew, chew, chew on everything! Thankfully, we have lots of toys to stick in front of them and a handy bottle of Bitter Apple to spray on everything else! They've been learning lots of tricks, too! They have mastered sit, down, roll-over and waiting to pick up a treat, and they're working on stay, come, fetch and dance.
Jax—Both pups are a bundle of energy, but Jax is an extra-bouncy, wiggle worm! He's a pleaser and will doing anything for food, so he's always the first to pickup on new tricks. When there's a Cheerio, he's right there waiting to be told how to earn it. His absolute favorite trick is rollover…and he'll do it over and over and over if you tell him to! He is usually the instigator for wrestling and loves to chase Millie and steal toys out of her mouth. He's a little more timid when it comes to meeting new people or trying something new. Jax has recently discovered that he has a bark and he's starting to use it!
Millie—This sweet girl loves to jump in your lap and cuddle. Sometimes, I think it's just to escape Jax's pestering, but believe me, she doesn't need protecting! She may be smaller, but she can really hold her own and rip his face off when she wants to. Millie is much more independent, always curious, and testing her boundaries. She hasn't really had a full bark yet, but when she really wants your attention, she has the craziest howl that sounds like a cross between a laughing hyena and a chimpanzee! She's a slow-moving, sleepy-head in the morning and lot more laid back than Jax overall. Sometimes, I catch her sleeping on her back with her legs in the air! She loves playing with a tennis ball, but is not always willing to bring it back…yet.
Sibling Rivalry—These doggers are always jealous of the other one. If one dog is playing with a toy, the other wants to play with the same toy. If one is getting attention, the other one demands attention by acting up. Parents, I'm sure you understand. If I let it, even dinnertime consists of them constantly going to each other's bowls instead of eating from their own, as you can see in the video above. I've learned to pick my battles.

Peggy's Cake Soireé Awesome Cake Card
Background Basics—Peggy started this card with a 4-1/4" x 3" piece of the Sweet Soireé Specialty Designer Series Paper matted onto a 4-3/8" x 3-1/8" Marina Mist cardstock layer. She wrapped some Berry Burst Metallic-Edge Ribbon around the layer, securing the ends on the back. The Powder Pink card base has a 5-1/4" x 4" Whisper White background.
Pretty Present—Peggy stamped the Cake Soireé gift image in VersaMark onto Powder Pink, then embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder. Next, she used Powder Pink, Old Olive and Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Markers to color in the floral image on the present. She hand-cut the gift and popped it up with Dimensionals, then added a Berry Burst Metallic-Edge Ribbon bow on top with a Glue Dot. Finally, she die-cut a couple of Silver Foil branches from the Sweet Cake Framelits and tucked them under the present with a Glue Dot.
