When I started playing with the Flowering Rain Boots bundle, I couldn't wait to make these cards with cool polka dotted boots! It's a "paper piecing" technique made easier with the Rain Boots Dies. These cards also have a little different style…an offset gate-fold.
Background Basics—I used my Simply Scored tool to easily score a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock at the 3" and 7-1/4" marks. I folded the ends in, lined them up flush, then burnished the folds crisp with a Bone Folder. Next, I embossed a 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" piece and 1" x 5-1/4" piece of Coastal Cabana with the Stripes & Splatters Embossing Folders. The larger one was embossed with splatters; the smaller with stripes. These folders perfectly sized to run through the Mini Stampin' Cut & Embossing Machine, which is currently on sale for 20% off!
Focal Point—I created a foundation for my focal point by die cutting a Scalloped Contours label from Basic White cardstock and mounting it on the left front gate panel with Dimensionals. I stamped the Flowering Rain Boots boots image in Coastal Cabana ink onto one of the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper patterns, then die cut it with the Rain Boots die. I also stamped the stems in Pear Pizzazz and tulips in Polished Pink onto Basic White and die cut those, too. The stems were adhered to the label first with SEAL, then the boots and tulips were popped up with Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals. I tied a bow with White Crinkle Seam Binding Ribbon and attached it to the boots with a Glue Dot.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Flowering Rain Boots sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a Stitched Rectangle die-cut label and tucked it under the boots. I finished by coloring a few Rhinestone Jewels with the Dark Polished Pink Stampin' Blends Markers and floating them around the sentiment.
Inside The Card—Don't forget to decorate the inside of the card with more tulips!
Two Cool—I created a second card with Mango Melody cardstock, this time flipping the card base upside-down so that the shorter gate panel was on the left. The smaller panel was embossed with the splatters and the larger with the stripes.
Focal Point—I stamped the rain boots in Poppy Parade ink onto a pattern from Flowering Fields DSP this time. The stems are still in Pear Pizzazz and the tulips are in Mango Melody. I colored the Rhinestones with the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends marker.
I stamped the boots again on the inside with Poppy Parade ink.
