Hi Stamping Friends!

Welcome to Day 3 of my Fabulous Faux Patina Week!  I hope you're enjoying seeing the different texture embossing folders and color combinations that I've been presenting.  It really is a versatile technique and it's so much fun to play with various combinations!  Have you tried it yet?!

All of my Faux Patina projects use the same basic technique that you can learn on my Faux Patina Video Tutorial.  You can find more info on the technique at my Faux Patina Resource Page.

I'd like to give a shout-out to the design team at The Technique Twist who selected the Faux Patina Technique to be the featured Twisted Challenge this week!  What perfect timing!!!

Twice a month, they give you a technique and they challenge you to take that technique
to the next level.  Their current Faux Patina Challenge runs through September 26.  Try out the technique, then link your project to their site showcase.  Their team has already started the fun with 5 twisted projects! Go check it out!

I'll have to submit my entry later today!  Woot!  Thanks, ladies!

Baroque beauties - two cool

Each pair of two cool projects I'm showing this week started with a
1/4 sheet of either Whisper White or Very Vanilla card stock.  I created
the background on the sheet first, then cut up the sheet to use on two
separate creations.

Baroque beauties - razzleberry

Although Faux Patina is typically a "background" technique, I love using it as smaller accent elements, too!  If you create a 1/4 sheet, you can get LOTS of smaller accents to use on several cards!

For this card, I embossed a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Rich Razzleberry with the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder and adhered it to a Rich Razzleberry card base.

I die-cut my Faux Patina sheet with the Labels Collection Framelits, then added another die-cut in Cajun Craze, cut in half and positioned to frame it.

The sentiment is from Friendship Preserves (wood) stamp set, colored with the Rich Razzleberry and Cajun Craze Markers, and die-cut with the Window Frame Framelits.  All of the layers are popped up with Dimensionals.

I love the 3/4" strip of Gold Foil because it picks up the beautiful gold accents from the Faux Patina!

Baroque beauties - cajun harvest

For my second card, I went with an autumn theme.  The Cajun Craze card base is stamped with the Magnificent Maple single stamp in Cajun Craze ink.

I punched a simple Rich Razzleberry Scallop Edge Border for each side of my 4-1/4" x 2-1/2" Faux Patina piece, then wrapped it with Linen Thread and tied it in a bow.  Look at those awesome gold details!

I finished off the card with a pretty image from the Harvest of Thanks (wood) stamp set.  Again, I colored the rubber with markers before stamping, then die-cut with the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  So pretty!

  1. Wow! I love these fall colors. I have to give this technique a try. I love how the grunge stamp set gives the lines on some of your cards. Too Cool! LOL!

  2. WOW!! love this card , the fall colors are really pretty , I like the idea of doing a sheet and using punches or framelits to make a small piece then place on a card to add a little pop of unique color or dimension to the card. Thank you Angie
