Hi Stamping Friends!

OK, I have to confess. I'm a walking contradiction. 

My wants and goals are many times on opposite ends of the spectrum and in daily conflict.  Like how I love to walk many miles a day to be fit, yet I still want to be able to drink Pepsi and binge on potato chips.  Or, how I love to be organized with everything in it's place, but in reality, I'm more messy than not.  Or, how I am usually a hard worker and very self-motivated…until I find an excuse to take a nap and ignore it all.

I enjoy being around people; I enjoy being a hermit. I'm positive and energetic; I'm a worrying whiner. I over-think it; I'm spontaneous. I'm strong; I'm weak. I'm dependable; then irresponsible. I'm self-confident; I'm full of doubt. 

I'm hot, then I'm cold. I'm yes, then I'm no. I'm a frickin' Katy Perry song!  

Anyway, I don't know what any of this really has to do with stamping, except to explain that yesterday I didn't create a blog post and I feel guilty about it. I know I shouldn't. I know it's not a big deal.  But I don't like to "not" post!  (And, I really hate double negatives, yet I wrote one!) 

Yesterday, I just wasn't feeling my "good" self.  Today, it's different. 

Reading this quote from Kelly Clarkson changed my attitude: 

"This is what I’m rocking musically, this is what I’m rocking physically, this is what I’m rocking emotionally. You can either love it, or you don’t have to, there’s plenty of other artists out there to love and adore."

So, today, this is what I'm rocking.  And, I'm OK with that.

From the beautiful spring images to the lovely color combination, this card is hands-down one of the most popular ones we've been creating at my recent private classes!  I love it, too! 

CASEd from Lynn Weiss at LW Designs.

Background Basics—I started with a vertically folded 4-1/4" x 11" Pool Party card base.  The 4" x 5-1/4" Rose Red background is texture embossed with the Spring Flowers embossing folder.  Love those coordinated flowers!  

Painted Petals Pretties—I stamped the 4" x 3-1/2" Whisper White layer with a variety of images from the Painted Petals stamp set.  It helps to go in a certain order for positioning, so this is the sequence that I stamped…

• Stamp the flower stems in Wild Wasabi on the bottom left, leaving enough room for the blooms to be stamped above.
• Stamp the roses images in Rose Red (of course!) on top of the stems.
• Stamp the dots image in Pool Part on one side of the stems, and then again on the other side. 
• Stamp the greeting in Blackberry Bliss just above the dots.

The whole layer is popped up with Dimensionals.

Beautiful Butterflies—I stamped the larger Butterflies Basics butterfly in Pool Party ink on Whisper White card stock, then die-cut the image with the Butterflies Thinlits.  Next, I stamped the smaller butterfly in Rose Red on Whisper White, then punched it out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch.  I adhered the small butterfly with a Glue Dot and folded up the wings.  The larger butterfly is adhered with SNAIL along the bottom and Dimenionals on the top.

Sparkle Accent—I colored a Rhinestone Jewel with Coastal Cabana Blendabilities Markers for a matching sparkly, butterfly body embellishment. 

Two Cool—I mixed up my elements a little on my second version.  I eliminated the embossed texture on the background for a cleaner look.

Vertical Focal Point—I stamped the focal point vertically this time with the greeting at the top and the butterflies at the bottom.  Instead of the dots, I chose to stamp the lines image across the stems in Pool Party ink.  Very nice!
