Hi Stamping Friends!
Today I'm sharing the first of the awesome shoebox swap cards that we made at our team event on Monday! We left our event with 18 card ideas in our hands—Too Cool! It's perfect timing for me, too, since I'm in need of extra projects to post on my blog while I'm gone!
Next week, I'll be in Salt Lake City visiting family, then attending the 25th Anniversary Stampin' Up! Convention, along with 6000 of my closest stamping friends! I'm so excited! Maybe I'll see some of YOU there! Be sure to say "hello, you" if you see me!

Designed by Rita Berning. CASEd from Sandie Conner at Pretty Provisions.
I had to start with this one because it features lots of Designer Series Paper, and it gave me the perfect opportunity to remind you of the fabulous Buy 3, Get 1 FREE DSP promotion going on thru the month of July. So there you have it.
Rita designed this card with the Eastern Elegance DSP to create a
beautifully layered background.
Layer Measurements—for each
layer (from the base):
- 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Bermuda Bay card stock base.
- 5-1/4" x 4" Crushed Curry card stock.
- 5" x 3-3/4" Eastern Elegance DSP in a multicolor pattern.
- 5" x 3-3/4" Eastern Elegance DSP in Bermuda Bay pattern, cut on the diagonal (see below).
- 4" x 2-3/4" Crushed Curry card stock.
- 3-3/4" x 2-1/2" Eastern Elegance DSP in Crushed Curry pattern
- 3-1/4" x 1-3/4" Bermuda Bay card stock
- 3" x 1-1/2" Whisper White card stock
The sentiment is from Regarding Dahlias, stamped in Bermuda Bay ink.
Diagonal DSP—On the Bermuda Bay patterned paper layer, Rita cut off the opposite corners, so the paper ends up looking diagonal. Simply, mark the 5" side at 2-3/4" point, and the shorter side at the 2-3/8" point, then cut from mark-to-mark with your Stampin' Trimmer. Repeat on the opposite corner.
Details, Details, Details—Did you notice this super-cute detail? Before adhering the diagonal layer, cut a small slit at the top and bottom and fold down the corners like a collar to reveal the paper below. The Pearl Jewel adds the finishing touch! I love this!
Tying Alternative—Before adhering the top stamped layer with Dimensionals, we punched out a 1/4" hole, threaded through some Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon, and tied it closed with some White Baker's Twine. This is a great way to add the thicker ribbon without a large and bulky knot. Great idea!
