Rita's Frosty The Snowman's Hat Treat Holder

Oh.My.Cuteness!  Is this project adorable, or what?!  Too Cool team member Rita Berning created these Frosty the Snowman Hats for our "Anything But A Card" Christmas swap on Monday!  Wouldn't they be darling at your holiday place-settings, or as a gift to sit on your co-worker's desk?  Best of all, they are surprisingly easy to assemble!

Basic Hat Assembly—I have the basic measurements and directions listed here, but you can see how it's assembled in a tutorial by Connie Stewart: Frosty The Snowman Hat Box.
  • Hat Brim—Die-cut Basic Black card stock with the largest 4" circle from the Circles Collection Framelits for the hat brim base.
  • Hat Measurements—Cut a 9-1/2" x 4" piece of Basic Black and score at 1" on the 4" side (so the score runs the 9-1/2" length). Snip several times along the 9-1/2" side up to the 1" score line to create small tabs about 1/2" – 3/4" apart. Die-cut a 2-3/4" Circle Collection Framelits shape (4th largest circle) in Basic Black.
  • Hat Assembly—Fold the tabs in and use Fast Fuse to adhere them around one of the 2-3/4" circle bases, so the circle is inside the hat.  Then, adhere the hat base to the hat brim with Fast Fuse.
  • Decorate & Fill!

Hat Band—Cut a 9-1/2" x 1-1/4" strip of Real Red card stock, then add some Stylish Stripes texture to it.  Run it through one side of the embossing folder, then the other to get texture across the length of the band.  Adhere to around the hat with Fast Fuse.

Snowflake Décor—Add some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to a wooden Snowflake Element using a 2-Way Glue Pen, then secure onto the hat band with a couple Glue Dots.  Tie a bow with some Real Red 1/8" Striped Ribbon and attach with another Glue Dot.

  3. I love this idea and tried to make some this year, but the paper that goes around the hat kept coming unglued. What did you use to glue everything.
