Hi Stamping Friends!

I don't know if it's just the age I'm getting to, or simply a multitude of unfortunate coincidences, but I seem to have an extraordinary number of friends who are dealing with some pretty heavy things in their lives. Just over the past month I've had several people I care about who have wither lost a parent, lost a spouse, lost a good friend, lost a dear pet, received a not-so-good health diagnosis, lost a job, wrecked a car, had to be hospitalized, or are dealing with their troubled teen. Every other day I seem to hear about more bad news and more struggles.

It's little wonder that I've come in short supply of sympathy and thinking of you cards lately. I usually have lots of these on hand, so I can get my well-wishes in the mail as soon as I hear someone is hurting, but I definitely need to do some replenishing of my inventory. How about you?

Rooted In Nature Copper Be Strong Card

Marsha Henry created this beautiful thinking of you card with the Rooted In Nature bundle. I love that she paired the Crumb Cake and Soft Suede colors with copper! It's a fabulous look for autumn, but it can truly be used any time of the year!

Background Basics—Marsha began by adding a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper to the front of a Crumb Cake card base. She fishtail cut the bottom of a 3" x 4" piece of Copper Foil with Paper Snips to make a stunning backdrop for the tree focal point.

Pretty Tree—Marsha stamped the Rooted in Nature full oak tree in Soft Suede ink onto Whisper White cardstock, then die-cut it with the coordinating Nature's Roots framelit. It's popped up with Dimensionals. I love that you can see a reflection of the tree in the copper!

Finishing Touches—She added a piece of the Burlap Ribbon across the bottom of the banner with SNAIL adhesive. Next, she stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede onto a 1-3/4" x 3/8" strip of Whisper White and fishtailed the end of that. It's added over the burlap with a Glue Dot. The True Gentleman Button is tied with Linen Thread then added to the end of the sentiment with a Glue Dot, too.

Rooted In Nature Solo Tree Be Strong Card

I adore the simplicity of this pretty swap card I received from Karen Titus. It's perfect for sympathy cards and other more solemn occasions. And, it's quick and easy to create!

Background Basics—Karen adhered a 3" x 4-1/2" piece of the Wood Textures 6×6" Designer Series Paper at an angle on a Whisper White Thick card base.

Lonesome Tree—The Rooted in Nature tree was colored directly on the stamp with Garden Green and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Markers before stamping it onto a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White cardstock. It's matted onto a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Early Espresso, then mounted onto the card front with SNAIL adhesive.

Finishing Touches—Karen stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White, then hand-cut it out and adhered it with SNAIL. She finished by adding a few floating Rhinestone Jewels around the tree. So clean, simple and lovely.
