Butterfly Gala Trio Cards
The Gingham Gala suite has delightful images and trendy checked papers in bright & cheery colors that chase away the winter blues! Print Out & Save The Supply List & Instructions
Background Basics—I began with a vertically-folded Balmy Blue card base, measuring 11" x 4-1/4" and scored at the 5-1/2" mark. Next, I adhered a 4-1/4" x 3" piece of Lemon Lime Twist Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper. I wrapped some of the new Whisper White 5/8" Flax Ribbon around the entire card front, tying a double-knot and trimming the ends. This ribbon is exactly like our Burlap Trim in a bright white color, so you can trim apart the ribbon and use the individual strands, giving you lots of options for adding texture to projects. Too Cool!
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped a Butterfly Gala sentiment in Balmy Blue ink onto the lower half of a 1-5/8" x 5-1/2" panel of Whisper White cardstock, then popped it up over the ribbon with Dimensionals.
Butterfly Trio—I stamped the Butterfly Gala image featuring the outline of the two sizes of butterflies in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. I colored them with Balmy Blue, Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Write Markers. After punching them out with the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch, I stamped their butterfly bodies in Memento Black ink. I adhered the butterflies to the panel with a single Glue Dot, bending their wings up.

Finishing Touches— I love the new Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins because they perfectly match the Gingham Gala DSP! I added Balmy Blue iridescent sequins on the centers of the butterflies to give them some sparkle! So cute!
Two Cool—I love this second color combination, too! I started with a Highland Heather card base, then added Balmy Blue Gingham Gala DSP with the larger checked side. Instead of the Flax Ribbon, I tried the coordinating Lemon Lime Twist Organdy Ribbon from the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack. It's a Sale-a-Bration FREE selection of ribbon that includes 2 yds. each of the 5 colors included in the Gingham Gala DSP 6×6" pack: Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, Lemon Lime Twise, Grapefruit Grove and Daffodil Delight. I'm thinking I need to make this card in all 5 different colors…a little gift set! So fun!
Sweet Sentiment—I tried a different Butterfly Gala greeting, inked in Highland Heather.
Flutterbys—The butterflies are colored the same as the first card, but I attached them so they look like they are fluttering around. I love how the floating sequins helps give the feel of them fluttering by.
Three Cool—I loved the look of the Organdy Ribbon, so I added the Highland Heather ribbon to the first card. Do you like it better than the Flax Ribbon? I'm still not sure…I like it both ways!
