Christmas Scottie Dog Squares Card Tracy Jacobs sent me this adorable Christmas Scottie card and I'm in love with it! The Christmas Scottie stamp set and matching Scottie Dog Punch will be retiring soon, so get it while you can!
Background Basics—Tracy started by cutting eight 1-1/4" squares of the Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper and adhering them across the top, bottom and side of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock. The Lights Aglow DSP is already SOLD OUT, but you could use any holiday paper for this layout. The background was mounted onto an Evening Evergreen card base.
Next she added a 2-1/2" square of Evening Evergreen Cardstock to the background and added a Basic White Stylish Shapes square die-cut over the top.
Cute Scottie—Tracy punched a Basic Black dog shape with the Scottie Dog Punch and popped it up with Dimensionals onto the white square. She also punched a bow from the coordinating patterns of Lights Aglow and added it to the dog with Liquid Multipurpose Glue.
Finishing Touches—She stamped a Christmas Scottie sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 3/4" strip of Basic White, then trimmed the ends down at a diagonal and popped it up. Tracy finished by adding an Iridescent Rhinestone that was colored with a Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends Marker.
Inside The Card—I love how Tracy completed the inside of the card with the little black stamped Scottie peeking around the corner. Cute, cute, cute!
Christmas Scottie In Cottage Gingham Card
Alejandra Gomez created this fun Scottie Dog card for our swap. There were many similar elements to Tracy's card above, but it's a simpler layout.
Background Basics—Alejandra began by mounting a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of black & white Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper to a 5-1/4" x 4" Real Red cardstock background. Next, she added a 5-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of a Real Red pattern from the same Gingham Cottage DSP across the middle. All layers were mounted onto a Basic Black card base.
Sweet Scottie—Like the first card, Alejandra created a foundation for her pup with a Basic White Stylish Shapes die-cut. She also had a Basic Black Scottie Dog punch out and she flipped it in the opposite direction, then added a Real Red cardstock punched bow. The dog is popped up with Dimensionals.
Sweet Sentiment—Like the first card, she stamped the Christmas Scottie sentiment in Memento Black ink onto a 3/4" Basic White strip, trimming the ends at a diagonal and popping it up. She finished with a couple of Rhinestone Jewels at the corner of the sentiment. Sweet!
