Hi Stamping Friends!

I'm so excited to introduce the September Stamp-of-the Month Class Kit featuring Coffee Café!  The whole Coffee Break Suite is an awesome, trendy and oh-so-popular collection of products!  I had so much fun putting this class together and I'm not even a coffee drinker!  I have all the class details below, including a closer look at one of the cards from the kit!

Stamp-of-the-Month Series Update—If you're a fan of my stamp of the month kits, you may have wondered, "What happened to August's kit?"  Well, I've rearranged my class schedule a bit and changed the timing of this series to make it earlier in the month.  Rather than try to squeeze in an August class, I just skipped ahead!

Upcoming Stamp-of-the-Month Kits—Featuring stamps from the Holiday Catalog!  Look for details each month!

  • Painted Harvest—Mails October 12.
  • Merry Little Labels (cards & stocking stuffers)—Mails November 9
  • Half Full—Mails December 4.

Coffee Cafe 4 Block Mocha - two cool

Inspired by Buffy Cooper at Stamping With Buffy.

Happiness Is A Cup of Coffee Cards

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I do like an occasional mocha frappé, so this is the only image in the set that I can truly relate to!  LOL!  But, I LOVE this entire set and all of the awesome possibilities, especially for the holidays and giving out Starbucks gift cards!  I'm sure I'll be making lots of gift card holders with this set for my upcoming craft fairs!

Plus, if you've already received your Holiday Catalog, you know that there's a brand new coordinating Merry Café stamp set in there with all kinds of seasonal sentiments that you can add to your coffee cups!  How fun!

Background Basics—The first card is the one that is featured in the Stamp-of-the-Month kit!  The background is split up into four panels:
  • 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Island Indigo
  • 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" piece of Island Indigo
  • 2-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Crumb Cake
  • 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Crumb Cake

I embossed the Island Indigo pieces with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Texture Impressions Folder. The Crumb Cake pieces were stamped all over with the coffee bean image in Crumb Cake ink.  All four panels were adhered to a 4" x 5-1/4" Early Espressso layer and mounted onto a Whisper White card base.

Friendly Cup—I stamped the Coffee Café coffee cup outline in Early Espresso onto Whisper White, then die-cut it with the coordinating Coffee Cups Framelits die.

Bundle It & Save—Purchase the Coffee Café stamp set and Coffee Cups Framelits together in a Bundle to save 10% off the cost of purchasing them separately!

Sweet Sentiment—I colored the sentiment directly on the photopolymer stamp using the brush tip end of the Inland Indigo and Early Espresso markers.  Once it was all colored, I huffed on the stamp to re-moisten the ink, then stamped on the inside of the cup.

TIPS: If you find the ink pools on the photopolymer stamp, causing a blotchy image, there are a couple of things you can try for a crisper image.  You can rub a clean Adhesive Remover over the image to remove any residue on it, or ink it up in clear VersaMark ink before coloring.

Shimmering Whip—I stamped the domed lid of the cup in Soft Sky ink onto Whisper White card stock, then die-cut the image with the Coffee Break Framelits.  Next, I stamped the whipped topping in Crumb Cake ink onto the die-cut and added some Clear Wink of Stella ink to make it shimmer.

Finishing Touches—I popped up the cup, lid and straw with Dimensionals onto the card front, then added a few Rhinestone Jewels.  The Mini Dimensionals work great under the straw!  Have you tried those tiny foam pop-ups?  A must-have!

Two Cool—My second version uses the same basic elements, but trades out the Island Indigo for Old Olive.  I flipped the larger panels to the bottom this time, too, to change the look.

I used the Old Olive marker on the sentiment.

The lid is stamped in Pear Pizzazz I and used some Old Olive striped paper from the Coffee Break DSP for the straw.
