Hi Stamping Friends!
Sometimes you need a card at the spur of the moment, so it's always great to have some generic cards on hand for just this purpose. I designed today's projects with that thought it mind. They are simple to make, easy to duplicate, and versatile enough to work for many different occasions.
I started with two cool masculine cards using the "celebrate today" sentiment. The crisp, cool colors and cheerful saying could work for anything from birthday to graduation, anniversary to baptism. Any special occasion is pretty much covered in one fell swoop!
Background Layers—I used a 2-1/4"x 5" piece of Basic Grey, embossed with the Decorative Dots Folder, for one panel and a 1-1/2" x 5" piece of I Am Me Designer Series Paper for the other panel. They are adhered to a piece of 4" x 5-1/4" Basic Black, and mounted on the Pistachio Pudding or Soft Sky card base.
The 1/2" x 5" strip of Gold or Silver Foil was embossed with the retiring Needlepoint Texture Impressions Folders, and adds some shine and elegance.
Celebrate Sentiment—The words came from the retiring Perfectly Penned set and were stamped on Whisper White in Basic Gray ink. I die-cut the image with the Chalk Talk Framelits, then die-cut a second colored shape, cut it in half and positioned it under the sentiment as a frame. Four Rhinestone Jewels anchor the label corners.
I really like the color combination of Soft Sky and silver on the second version even better!
Next, I created two cool cards with a more feminine feel using Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantaloupe. The same concept of versatility applies here. "Happy Big Day" can also cover a wide spectrum of special occasions.
I changed the embossed panel to smaller dots from the Perfect Polka Dots Folder, and used the scallop edge from the Needlepoint Embossing Folder set.
The sentiment is from Chalk Talk, stamped in Strawberry Slush and die-cut with the matching Chalk Talk Framelits. I layered it on another image from the same set, stamped in Basic Gray.
…and the Cantaloupe with Gold version.
