Simple Poinsettia Place Gift Boxes
I created these pretty little boxes for little gifts for my team event last month and they were a big hit! Those paper poinsettias are SO PRETTY and they are perfect for adding to treat boxes and other gifts in place of a bow! These boxes assemble pretty quickly, so they are a great choice if you need to make a large amount of gifts for group. I'm going to make more boxes to give little gifts to my neighbors. They would also look amazing as a little table gift at your holiday table!
Box Basics—Talk about an easy-to-make box! It's created with a 6" x 6" piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and a 6" x 6" piece of Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper. For the cardstock bottom: make a score line at the 1-1/2" mark on all sides of the piece. For the DSP top: make a score line at the 1-7/16" mark all the way around. That's just a smidge less than 1-1/2" so the lid will be just a hair larger for the perfect fit. TIP: Using my Simply Scored platform, I simply moved the DSP over to center it between the edge and the first score line.
Assembly for the bottom and lid is the same. Cut up to the 1-1/2" score line on opposite sides, then cut out little notches on the outside flaps. I added Tear & Tape Adhesive to the tops of those flaps, so they will fold in and be on the inside of the box once assembled. You could use SEAL+ Adhesive instead of Tear & Tapes for a secure hold.
Pretty Poinsettia—The Poinsettia Dies make creating this gorgeous flower so simple! I die-cut the three flower petals layers in Very Vanilla cardstock, then used my fingers to curve the sides of the petals. You could use a Bone Folder to curl the petals, depending on the look you want. I stacked the layers with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I die-cut the small Gold Foil flower center and attached that with Glue Dots. I finished with the elegant Beaded Pearls embellishment, a must-have topper for this flower, attaching with more Glue Dots!
Sentiment Tag—I stamped the Poinsettia Petals greeting in Real Red ink onto a 2" x 3/4" piece of Very Vanilla, fishtail cut the end and attached it with a few Glue Dots.
Two Cool—I selected another Poinsettia Place DSP pattern for this second box. Beautiful!
Box Options—This box measures 3" x 1-1/2" and is large enough to fit quite a bit for a small box! Fill it with candy, jewelry, hair accents, small lotions, hand-sanitizers, nail polish and money! If you need a bigger box…no problem! Simply start with a larger piece of cardstock & DSP. You can keep it at the 1-1/2" depth, or make change it to make it a taller box. It's a very simple template to change on your own.
