Can you believe it's almost September?! Wow!
Next week is a big stamping week…the new Holiday Mini is available on September 1st! But, don't forget about your last chance to purchase the limited-time-only items from the Summer Mini. Only a few more days—August 31st is your last day! Don't wait! Order your favorites today from my Online Store!
As per my usual, the end of a Mini sneaks up on me, and I discover, with only a few days left, that I haven't used my soon-to-retire Mini sets nearly as much as I wanted to! So, I'm spending some time playing with my favorites before they are gone.
Today's featured set is the Love & Care Hostess set. You can purchase the set using Hostess Reward Dollars earned with any order of $150 or more. The wood set is $14 and the clear is only $11.
How simple are these cards?! And, so pretty, too! I was inspired by a card I saw by Dawn Olchefske: Drawn Framed Notecard.
The images in this set beg to be colored in with markers before stamping! I used a combination of Poppy Parade (that's the color I claimed to "hate" not long ago) and the new In Colors Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade. On the second card, you can see the flowers have darker tips. I just colored the whole flower in Coral, then brushed Poppy on the edges before stamping. The flowers in the upper-most corners are stamped off once.
I used the new Simply Scored scoring tool (sneak peek, coming in the Holiday Mini) to add a simple and very subtle scored-line frame. On the first card, the corner lines meet about 1/4" inside the edge. On the second card, I've scored the full lengths of the card about 3/8" from the edge. This easy-to-create effect adds a little class and provides a little texture. So elegant!
The sentiments in this set are the perfect size for tucking in close the the blooms. I inked those in Early Espresso, and added a few Crumb Cake waterspots from the French Foliage set for added interest. (Seriously, French Foliage is worth the price for the awesome waterspots alone!)
Finally, I spritzed each card with a little Champagne Shimmer Mist alcohol spray to give the card some overall sparkle! Can you see it on the closeup photo on the right? Beautiful!

OK—wait a gosh darn minute! How is it possible that I made a card that has NO Dimensionals?! And, is practically only one layer?! I mean this just isn't like me. I don't do simple. Holy cow! This is outrageous! I'm so proud of myself! 😀
