Simply Zinnias Center Open Gratitude Card
My last card from my Simply Zinnias class features another interesting fun fold—a center opening card. I CASEd my card from one I received from Karen Titus in this cool style.
Background Basics
The card starts with a 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of Thick Basic White cardstock that’s scored at the 5-1/2″ mark. I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to make cuts along the sort side at the 3/4″ and 3-1/2″ marks up to the score line.
Center Flap (watch the video to see step-by-step)
Next, I adhered the two skinny flaps to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, so that only the larger center panel would be the actual card opening. I adhered 1/2″ x 5-1/4″ pieces of Lemon Lime Twist Flowering Zinnias Designer Series paper to those skinny panels, then added another 2-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ Berry Burst Flowering Zinnias pattern to the center flap.
Focal Point
I stamped the Simply Zinnias bloom in Berry Burst ink onto Basic White cardstock. I dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Markers to color in the flower, leaving the stamens white. Then, I added some light Flirty Flamingo shading and color to the flower center. TIP: Let the ink from the image dry completely before adding Blends Markers to reduce bleeding and smearing.
I stamped the Simply Zinnias leaves in Old Olive onto Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, then used the Simply Zinnias Dies to cut the leaves and a single stem. I adhered those to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I die-cut the bloom, as well, then popped it on top of the stem.
Sentiment & Finishing Touches
I stamped a Simply Zinnias sentiment in Berry Burst ink onto a 3-1/4″ x 1″ piece of Basic White and popped it up with Dimensionals. I finished with a few yellow Shiny Sequins for sparkle. So sweet!
Simply Zinnias Single Blends Bloom Card
I CASEd my flower from this lovely card created by Laura Milligan. I loved the softness of it, especially against the white textured background.
Basic Background
Laura’s card begins with a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at the 4-1/4″ mark. She adhered a 1/2″ x 5″ piece of Flowering Zinnias DSP along the left side of the card front. Then, she embossed a 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock with the Zinnias Folder and mounted that to the card front.
Focal Point
Laura’s leaves are inked in Old Olive and stamped on Old Olive cardstock. The flower is stamped in Berry Burst ink and colored with Petal Pink Blends Markers.
Sentiment & Finishing Touches
Laura stamped a Simply Zinnias sentiment in Melon Mambo onto a 4″ x 1/2″ strip of Basic White and popped it up. She also added several colors of the Shiny Sequins accents. Fantastic!
