Sketched Butterflies Brighten My Days Card
When I created my Sketched Butterflies Class, I wanted to focus on creating fresh, fun color combinations that included the 2024-2026 In Colors. On this first card, I used Summer Splash, along with Blueberry Bushel, Azure Afternoon and Lemon Lime Twist for a bright, cool palette.
Background Basics
I started by embossing a 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ piece of Azure Afternoon cardstock with the Eyelet Embossing Folder. It’s layered onto a 3-3/8″ x 4-5/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Next, I wrapped some Iridescent Striped Ribbon around the layers, securing the ends on the back with SEAL Adhesive, then mounted them onto a Blueberry Bushel card base.
Focal Point
I created a foundation for the butterflies by adding a 1-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Summer Splash down the right side of the card front.
I stamped one medium and two small butterfly images from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White. Then, I colored in the butterflies with Stampin’ Blends Markers: Light Azure Afternoon, Light Summer Splash and Dark Lemon Lime Twist for the wings and Dark Azure Afternoon for the body.
Sweet Sentiment Label & Assembly
I stamped the Sketched Butterflies greeting in Memento Black onto a Basic White Stylish Shapes banner die-cut. I popped up all of the butterflies and sentiment banner with Dimensionals. To position them equally, I started with the large butterfly at the bottom first, then added the top small butterfly, then the next small butterfly and finally the sentiment.
Finishing Touches
I added a few Iridescent Pearls floating around the focal point. I also highly recommend adding some sparkly Wink of Stella Clear Glimmer to the butterflies, because…well…it’s just so sparkly!
