Snail Mail You've Got Mail Gate-Fold Cards Happy mail is on it's way! These adorable fun-fold cards are sure to brighten someone's day! The Snail Mail Suite of products makes it so easy to create!
Background Basics—The 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Bermuda Bay card base is scored along the 8-1/2" side ad the 2-3/4" and 7" marks to create this off-set, gate-fold card. TIP: Line up the two gate panel edges flush before creasing the folds with a Bone Folder for perfect alignment of the gates. I used a 2-1/2" x 5-1/4" piece of Snail Mail Designer Series Paper to decorate the first panel and a 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece to decorate the second.
Sweet Snail—I stamped the larger Snailed It snail image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a Basic White Layering Ovals die-cut and colored it with Stampin' Blends Markers. I used Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight colors, adding the light shade first, outlining in the dark, then blending with the light again. The oval is layered onto a Real Red scalloped oval die-cut from the same dies. I popped the oval up onto a 2-3/4" x 2" piece of Bermuda Bay, then adhered that Bermuda Bay piece to the first panel.
Finishing Touches—I tied some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the first panel for some texture, then added a few white Resin Hearts floating around the oval focal point. So sweet!
Don't forget to decorate the inside of your cards! I stamped the Snailed It envelope image onto Basic White scrap, colored it with Flirty Flaming Blends, die-cut it with the Snail Dies and adhered it to the inside. I also stamped the hearts in Pool Party ink.
Two Cool—I used the same basic design for the second card, starting with a Real Red card base and different patterns of the Snail Mail DSP.
Sweet Snail—I layered the colored snail onto a Bermuda Bay scallop oval this time, popped up onto a Real Red base. I also tried positioning the focal point lower on the card front. Another fun look! Which do you like better?
