What better way to cheer up a friend or family member than with a hand-written, hand-made card sent via snail mail?! I had so much fun creating some "happy mail" with the adorable Snail Mail Suite! The super-cute paper patterns, whimsical characters and bright & cheery colors are amazing! The elements all come together so easily, too!
Background Basics—I began by embossing a 5-1/2" x 2" piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder and adhering it to the bottom of a Bermuda Bay card base. I added a 5-1/2" x 3/4" strip of the cute hearts pattern of Snail Mail Designer Series Paper across the top of the textured background. Then, I created a foundation for the focal point with a 4" x 3" piece of mushroom patterned Snail Mail DSP, layered onto a 4-1/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Real Red cardstock and tied with a Snail Mail Twine bow.
Sweet Snail—I stamped the larger Snailed It snail image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Basic White and colored it in with Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Markers. Even though there is no Blushing Bride Blends Marker to match perfectly, I thought the Flirty Flamingo was a good substitute. You could always color with the Blushing Bride Stampin' Write Marker for perfect coordination.
The snail is die-cut with the Snail Dies and popped up onto a Basic White square die-cut, also courtesy of the Snail Dies. I love that border on the square! Did you notice that it mimics a postage stamp? Too cute!
Sweet Sentiment—I finished by stamping the Snailed It sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink onto a little Basic White word bubble die-cut from the same dies. It's popped up and adorned with a Real Red Resin Heart. I added a couple white Resin Hearts around the card for a little more charm.
Can I tell you how much I LOVE those little Resin Hearts! They are so cute for Valentine's projects, too!
Swap card created by Alicia Graham.
Two Cool—The second card is actually the card that inspired my card above! It's a swap card I received from Alicia Graham. I used many of the same elements that she used on her vertical version. She included two 3" x 4" patterns of DSP, offset just a bit to give the card some motion.
Finishing Touches—Alicia's card has a similar focal point and she used the Blushing Bride Stampin' Write Marker for a perfect match. Notice how the word bubble can go in any direction, so it's very versatile!
