Hi Stamping Friends!

Some Housekeeping Notes—Unfortunately, I’ve been having some issues with my blog over the past couple of days.  First, one of my posts did not get delivered to my subscribers, then I lost a whole post altogether!  Ugh!  If you missed my last published post, Happy Celebrations Cool Embossing Technique, be sure to go back to it because it’s a fun new SNEAK PEEK project from the new 2017 Occasions Catalog! 

NEW Occasions & Sale-a-Bration Catalogs Begin January 4, 2017!

Woohoo!  I’m getting super excited about the new 2017 catalogs that I can hardly contain myself!  I love so many of the new bundles & accessories and I can’t wait to share them with you!  As we countdown to the New Year, I’m counting down until the official start of our new Stampin’ Up! #1 Copper Dragonfly Dreams Happy Card

 

It was so great to see a delightful dragonfly stamp set in the new Occasions Catalog!  I expect the Dragonfly Dreams stamps and coordinating dies to be a big hit right away!

 

Stamped Dragonfly—Stamp the dragonfly outline image using Memento Black ink onto the center of a 3″ x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Stamp over the top of the outline using the watercolor wing image in Chocolate Chip ink.

Copper Lace Border—The border is created with a new Sale-a-Bration stamp set called Delicate Details.  It’s just one of the 12 items you can earn for FREE when you place a $50 order during Sale-a-Bration, which will run January 4 thru March 31, 2017.  Stamp the image in VersaMark, then sprinkle on the Copper Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool until glossy and smooth.  Hand-cut along the lace edge with super-sharp Paper Snips.  Adhere a 3″ x 1″ strip of Chocolate Chip card stock along the top of the Vanilla piece to create a 1/4″ border.

Background Basics—Rub the Embossing Buddy over the front of a Peekaboo Peach card base to remove any finger oils and static.  Then, stamp the Dragonfly Dreams dots image along the bottom of the card front, and stamp one of the greetings along the top.  Pour Copper Embossing Powder over the entire front, tap off the excess and heat set. 

Finishing Touches—Pop of the dragonfly layer onto the card front with Dimensionals.  Use the coordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits to die cut a dragonfly from Copper Foil, then adhere it with a Glue Dot over the stamped image.

#2 Dragonfly Dreams Gold Wings Card

 

You’re especially going to love the beautiful multi-dragonfly thinlit for bringing instant beauty to your stamping projects!  Ahhhh!

 

Background Basics—Stamp a random layer of Dragonfly Dreams dots in Pear Pizzazz ink all over a 4″ x 5-1/4″ Very Vanilla layer.  Start at the bottom with full ink, and work toward the top with stamped off ink for a lighter background.  Using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits multi-dragonfly die, die cut the stamped Very Vanilla layer to create a window. 

 

Sweet Sentiment & Assembly—Stamp a sentiment from Dragonfly Dreams in Memento Black to the bottom of the Very Vanilla layer.  Then adhere a 3″ x 5″ piece of Moroccan Designer Series Paper, or any of your favorite papers, behind the window.  Mount both layers onto the Pear Pizzazz card base.

 

Finishing Touches—Die cut a second multi-dragonfly image, this time from Gold Foil.  Add Fine-Tip Glue to the back of the bodies and tails and adhere the die-cut over the window opening as an inlay.  Leave the wings free to curve up for dimension!  Finally, use the Wink of Stella Gold to splatter on some gold flecks over the entire card.  How lovely!
